You can be negative as long as it's in a mature and constructive way. Most people on ATRL aren't able to do this so that's why most religious topics end up closed. But there's no reason to completely ban the topic of religion altogether.

The first comment yes, the rest of my posts were not offensive at all. It was actually a very specific argument on why believe in god if you dont believe in the bible. I'm assuming thats offensive? If thats the case, I'm offended that religious topics are allowed.

But excluding my first post, how were any of my other posts not mature or constructive? Unless you clocked me for the first one and that was enough to warrant a restriction? What about that girl who was condescending with the "god bless you and your insecurities" ****. This all seems very one sided, and it literally happens EVERYTIME someone says anything in argument towards religion. It'll always end in WP's, and it'll always end in the threads getting closed.

I mean, besides the contemporary christian music thread, how many religious topics actually stay open? It'd be more productive to just ban it all together.

Actually, I went back in to edit that last part before being clocked. I knew it was immature but that whole "I will pray for you heathen" **** is flame-bait in itself, and unfortunately will be supported because it's pro-religion.

I think religious topics in The Lounge should be prohibited, at least until the majority of ATRLer's learn how to have an intelligent discussion about a controversial topic without attacking each other. They always, always end up turning into giant flame wars with people on both sides of the argument spewing ignorant comments back and forth.
