Not when Lotus was released. But her worst song is still above average, so no trash in her discogrphy
I am a little delusional when it comes to Legend. The impact of her 2007 Grammy's performance will never stop impacting my ability to think clear
My entries are never one-liners. My only small description about Legend was here, during challenge #2, because I didn't have time to write more. This time I stepped it up
Will you sign up with her on Jake's next season?
Yes it is.
I'll make it my choice sis
Lotus is full of masterpieces, let's not
I'm speechless
Hope you did indeed step up, otherwise you'll trip down the stairs hunty
"Tell Me Why" is one of the best album tracks of Taylor Swift's career; in fact, it just might be the best track on Fearless. It never received a single treatment or significant promotional attention, but hit #1 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. Despite this, it receives little attention from the fanbase and from the general population as a whole. The song effectively and defiantly communicates the feelings in a relationship gone sour; it might be just another song about a boy, but it's not the simple, watered-down love song people might expect from Taylor given her reputation. The production and instrumentation are on-point and Taylor's vocals, though still not perfect, demonstrate an excellent emotive quality. If any Taylor song deserves more recognition and respect than it's seen, this is that song.
This album track from Nothing Was The Same would be the definition of underrated in the dictionary, if the dictionary was built around Drake. The track is built around a cool piano line and finger snaps that give the song a smooth and airy R&B feel and Jhené Aiko’s light vocals add a delicate touch to the chorus. From Time is a laid back track that is endlessly listenable because of how beautiful it sounds on its own; lyrically though, it tells the story of Drake missing out on a relationship and completion in his life because he was too busy focusing on material success and easy conquests. The song is full of real life detail like his mom’s advice that nobody wants be 70 and alone to Drake missing his chance with Courtney from Hooters on Peachtree even though she’s all he really wanted. The story telling, vocals, and music really shine, yet the song was ignored besides a great performance on Saturday Night Live, it deserved more.

Now, it remains a flawless gem and personally her most underrated song. Sure, she has a lot of underrated songs, and I feel like Kesha is an underrated artist herself. Especially when it comes to songs like this one. It's a song that shows a a more personal side to Kesha. A song about her first love and how painful heartbreak can truly be.
They say that true love hurts, well this could almost kill me
We've all or we will experience something close to this. I mean, I know I have. Her vocal delivery and the overall lyrical content of the song is what makes it so good. Yet, I don't think people outside the fans even knows the the song exists. It shows that Kesha is more than just a one trick pony and is able to craft a beautifully written and produced, relatable pop song that isn't about just having a good time and being the life of the party. With this song, she shows that she has a softer side and she isn't just the party girl with bops. She shows that just like anyone, she hurts. Not to mention that her vocals we top notch as well. Her vocals are also underrated. The bridge alone. The melodies and the whole melancholy and the haunting vibe of it all just really merges with your soul. I listen to it every now and then just to remind myself of just those feelings of the haunting vibe and melancholy feeling of it all.

This itself makes the single underrated, as few fans have access to the music. It is a sparsely set yet haunting ode from a dying soldier on the battlefield in Vietnam to his soon to be widowed love. Classified 1A was written by Cher's late husband and friend, Sonny Bono. Originally intended to be released during the years of Sonny & Cher's popularity, the song was deemed too un-American. Cher has never shied away from political involvement and world issues, but this track showcases the woman at her most passionate, her trailing "I love you"s dripping with anger at a war unwanted, and regret at a life unlived.

Sade's discography is impeccable; not a bad album, a few 'mediocre' songs and consistency with every release. But her unreleased and B-Side meterial is just another way to describe Perfection. The songs kinda DESTROY their released meterial in every single way.
So, for this round I chose Sade's Magnum Opus, 'Spirit', a B-Side of their biggest single, 'Smooth Operator'
Spirit, a 'Funk' influced song, it was a completely different move from her debut, Diamond Life. It has this Funky-Jazz, danceable production that everyone would enjoy, a repetitive and memorable chorus and when you listen to it, it gives you the feeling they had the best time of their lifes recording this song.
The lyrics: quite well written influence their listeners to have faith and trust in yourself no matter what the 'problem' is.
Sadly, It was completely overshadowed by Smooth Operator and still kinda is.
Like I already said, Sade's best song.
Among the many underrated Kelly songs, I chose You Love Me. I think that the melody is just so relaxing and calming even though the lyrics aren't. There is for sure some anger there. I feel that this song is so overlooked by both the GP and her fans and that's what it makes it underrated (and the fact that it wasn't a single because of GH:C1 )

The Last Song is literally the last song on Rihanna's 4th album, Rated R, and it's the perfect closure for her most dark, emotionally charged album.
Why it's underrated? Well, The Last Song is underrated because you hardly see fans or others praising the song despite the numerous reasons why the song should be praised, and, as a Rated R ballad, it's overshadowed by songs like Fire Bomb or Cold Case Love.
The song is finding Rihanna at her most vulnerable point, you can hear that vulnerability in her voice, and in the way she sings so easily. I think this might be the most perfect description of her feelings towards her ex-lover at that time. The song, arguably, is the best one, lyrically.
The bridge of the song ”You'll never know when the songs gonna play
The last song you'll hear is the one you made
Your song was beautiful that's why I started singing it
But this song is our song
So it's playing until the end even if it's the last song”
followed by the guitar outro is probably one of my favorite moments in Rihanna's discography and the best guitar solo usage in her songs.
What is amazing about the track is the fact that Rihanna is showing her all, her feelings, her deceptions, her wishes on this track, it's like an explosion of feelings to conclude the whole Rated R album.
It's sad, it's depressive, it's mournful, it's showcasing... it's the perfect definition for Rated R.

It has a really mature message for something that was recorded or created when Christina first debuted. I think people should give this Dreamy Eyes more credibility since it's not just your average song centering around love. Also, her voice is more restrained in this song so it's not overbearing to the listener. Most of all, its usage of metaphorical language is something you don't necessarily witness taking effect at all. She executes the message of Dreamy Eyes so effortless. I just can't reach you...dreamy eyes. Her tone is so seductive yet soothing. This is a release track from 2002 and I have no qualms stating that it should've been a single, let alone released officially as an album track. Dreamy Eyes builds up to a great climax. It is simply a great song in need of great affection.

At first i wasn't too fond of this song but after playing it over and over again i fell in love with it. Her vocals are amazing and she sounds somewhat angry and defeated throughout the song and like she just can't keep doing this anymore.
The production is amazing and her work with Greg Wells has always been flawless except for By The Grace Of God. . The drums make everything more intense. I could listen to the instrumentals all day.
It really is a masterpiece and the fact that Katy was one of the producers makes everything even better.
Even the acoustic version is flawless. It focuses mostly on her vocals which are outstanding in this version too.

One of Demi Lovato's most personal songs; a dark ballad with a touch of her past two pop/rock eras. This underrated gem shows us her writting skills and her vocal range.
I love this song because it shows how well can Demi Lovato transmite emotions through her voice. The original recording (that was meant to be on Here We Go Again but didn't made the final cut for being "too mature for her audience" back then) reveals her personal struggles with her father in the past. It got changed up a bit (re-recorded and a few lyrics changed but not that much) for Unbroken but for better honestly.
One of Demi Lovato's best songs that should be more praised between her stans and the general public.

If you look at the amount of views it has, you will see that it has a lesser amount off views than the other iam videos. This is my favorite iam song by far. The synths are heavenly and Jonna's vocals are beautiful on this track. It's such a sad song if you listen to the lyrics. This track is so beautifully written and the melodies are gorgeous. Claes' production is so unique and ambient, the song makes me feel relaxed and it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling every time I listen to it Far too underrated in every aspect!

Yes, a song hated by most Gaga fans. But for me this song is so clever in many ways and is so criminally underrated, firstly the beat of the song imitates a pig oink during the first verse.
Secondly, the song is a dichotomy, a song about rape which is set to a dance beat which culminates in an incredible drop with Gaga snarling Swine during the beat drop.
Thirdly, the reason why I think it's a very underrated song is her that her vocals are incredible and also I feel
the lyrics are very good, detailing that Gaga must take drugs just to be able to be with this person and that the person she's referring to must be so vile and disgusting.
The song also gave us, in my eyes, an iconic performance from Gaga. Yes, I'm talking about the SXSW performance where Mille Brown vomits over Gaga. It's a strong performance which shows Gaga as a metaphorical and survivor of rape. Not many people could do that.
Those are my reasons why I think Swine is Gaga's most underrated song.

Mariah's Most Underrated Song -- I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time
In my opinion, Mariah's most underrated song would be 'I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time'. The song is CRIMINALLY underrated in all ways. First of all; this song was just the PERFECT Summer song. Listening to it this whole Summer just reminds me on a daily basis why this is so underrated and fits perfectly right now. Second of all, it came from an album that had a #1 single then an under performing Top 20 single, which hurt it's chance to ever shine. The song peaked at #58; and what made it worse was it had an outstanding remix with T.I.. T.I. was the top rapper in 2008, so this song had so much set for it. It was a Summer anthem, with a top female, and a top rapper. In a more personal level, what makes this her most underrated song to me is the fact in my opinion she's YET to release a song that has been better since. This song is just something you can listen to and forget all troubles, I feel like everyone should know this song. Not to mention, she looked absolutely amazing in the video for someone at 38 years old and the whole vibe is positive. > I honestly think if this was covered and released by a Pop Girl today it would be a #1 hit even.

Azealia Banks became known to the world in 2012 with her hit single 212. When 212 blew up people wanted to know more about Azealia and they found her older songs but one song was always paid dust as opposed to "NeedSumLuv" and "P-U-S-S-Y" and that is Barbie ****. Barbie **** is something Azealia hasn't ever done before and no songs by her are similar to this underrated gem. Barbie **** continues to be overshadowed by 1991, Fantasea, and her pre-212 tracks even though it's one of her best songs she's EVER recorded. Maybe one day Barbie **** will get the same recognition and acclaim as her other older tracks. Until then, Barbie **** remains Azealia's most underrated track, forever overshadowed by the critically acclaimed 1991 and Fantasea as well as Yung Rapunxel, Venus, and even ATM Jam.
I struggled to pick one certain song for Alexandra as she has many criminally underrated songs. Instead of choosing a single or a track from her debut album which sold really well, I decided to pick a song from her sophomore album "Heartbreak on Hold" which many people wouldn't of heard before.
Between The Sheets is one of my favorite songs from Alexandra, I love the way she sounds, I love the production, the lyrics everything. She really shows off her vocals in this song and also comes across very sexy helping the lyrics come to life. This song in my opinion has HIT written all over it and it sucks that many will never get to hear it.

The the closing track of Warrior takes Kesha's sound to a place it's never been before - she's had ballads, but never so true and never so vulnerable, and yet the song seems completed overshadowed by others which warrior offered, such as "Last Goodbye" or "Supernatural" which receive much more attention. As the sole writer of this song, it truly conveys Kesha's talent as a songwriter - and beyond the lyrics, the song itself shows her vocal talent and true passion. "Love Into The Light" is perhaps one of Kesha's most powerful and touching songs, but seems to be under appreciated, and underrated by far.

Britney Spears
If U Seek Amy is the 3rd single from Britney's 6th studio album 'Circus,' and it first sparked interest to some people when they found out what the song actually meant. If you already don't know, If You Seek Amy means "F. U. C. K. Me" which when you put it with the chorus it actually says "Love me, hate me, say what you want about me, all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to F. U. C. K. Me."
This double entendre changes the whole song. In my perspective, I see that the track is purposely produced to sound as bubble-gum-innocent pop as it can when in reality the song is really dirty and that means the song has two different sides, a good one and a bad one.
The video actually represents that, it shows Britney inside a house at a sex-party that is coming to an end, at the bridge we see Britney changing her clothes into the perfect-housewife outfit so she can walk out of the door with her conservative family of a husband, son and daughter to meet the paparazzi. The video is showing two different sides as well, a good one and a bad one, the paparazzi and the public have no idea what goes on behind the doors, just like the people who sing the song and have no idea what it means. I think that is a very interesting artistic aspect of the song and why I think people underestimate the song.
Beside the artistic aspect of the song, the song itself is so catchy! The product couldn't get any better with this song, all the background vocals layering with the amazing production makes me love the song even more. Britney's vocal performances in the song fits the mood of it and makes it so.. good!
That's why I think the song is underrated.

With a discography as massive as Madonna's, there are bound to be some songs that fly under the radar. One of these underrated songs is Secret Garden, the final track on her 1992 album Erotica. This loungey downtempo is one of my personal favorite Madonna songs; I really enjoy the jazzy house production. It's the perfect album closer as it's a much needed cool down after the vastly uptempo dance songs on Erotica and manages to end the album on a relaxed note, while still remaining sultry.
The song is also one of the most personal and intimate on the album, being narrated in the point of view of herself in her mother's womb. Surrounded by bombastic tracks like Fever and Thief of Hearts, there's no surprise why this song has been generally overlooked. However, I believe that it's a great song that deserves more recognition.

"Love Will Tear Us Apart", a cover of the 1980's punk classic, is without a doubt Fall Out Boy's most underrated song. Most fans of the band forget even about the album that it's on, and those that do remember the album, seem to only recall their acoustics and B-Sides.
I personally love this song for a couple of reasons. First of all the lyrics are great for a nihilistic teenager, such as myself. The idea that love is fleeting and will just help me meet my demise reigns true for me (so far). But that's something I could get from Joy Division. What Fall Out Boy brings to it that makes me love it so much is the energy. It's something only Fall Out Boy could do, not bringing in too much to spoil the mood. But just enough to make me still feel less depressed about love being for naught, and more perfectly pissed off and fine with love being complete bullsh*t. This song was the perfect song for all those times I thought I fell in love with someone who didn't love me back, or when I got dumped by the girl who I had just told I loved.

The beautiful folk ballad has Janelle speaking about her past lover and reminiscing on the times they were together. I have always loved it because It has a slighty sad, yet magical feel to it, and has Janelle giving one of her biggest vocal performances in the chorus. I always want to listen to it on a rainy day and just play it over and over (which I have done, many times!). Just being an album track, and a song Janelle rarely plays live, it never had a chance to shine, and it is a gem that deserves much more recongtion.

After All is the third single from Michael's latest album, To Be Loved, and has been criminally underrated by the entire Bublé Briage since it was released. Despite featuring another huge name Canadian, most people that picked up the album seemed to have little to no interest in the track. For me, this track was huge, a collaboration I had wanted to happen for years without even realizing it. The song was written and composed by joint efforts from both Michael and Bryan, with some help from Jim Vallance. Going along with the theme of happiness that can be found in TBL, this song adds some rock flavor to a traditional pop/jazz album. The song has been one of, if not my ultimate, favourite from the album since it was released. It never fails to make me happy and excited, the composition is on-point and the boys vocals compliment one another brilliantly. There's nothing to NOT love about this song, so why it's underrated (undoubtedly his most underrated original piece) is beyond me.

For this challenge I chose an album cut from Speak Now: Never Grow Up. I chose this track because it truly is underrated. Plenty of people deem Taylor's slower songs as boring, dull or plain skip-able - and this is no exception. Unfortunately, they're missing out because Never Grow Up shows true beauty in not only the vocals, but its overall message and lyrics. The track talks about the fear of getting older and moving away from the simplicity and innocence of your younger self. It speaks so much truth and has a theme that can pretty much relate to anyone in the world, not just her fans or a certain type of person in particular. Life moves on quickly and one day you'll be living out your childhood, while the next you'll be getting married, having your first child, etc. Taylor shares the common feeling of wishing that we could just stop time and stay in place for one moment longer. Also, the instrumental is as simple as the message and the harmonies in the chorus are absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, some people will never be able to hear this gem as they're too afraid to branch out their taste. ♥

"Ooh, I don’t care about my lipstick, I just wanna drive you to love, love, love, love," Carly shouts in the chorus, "chasing the sun, don't wanna miss it / I just wanna drive you to love, love, love." She sounds ecstatic, as though she's literally cruising on the highway with her boyfriend, on to somewhere new. It's a perfect song to soundtrack any summer road trip.

The label quickly released Waking Up in Vegas, which went top 10, as the 4th single, leaving TOY in the oblivion.

Immediately after the challenge was posted I knew that I was going to use a song from Impossible Princess. It is easily her most underrated album: panned by many critics, barely charting and ignored by many fans in favor of her newer dance-pop material. The only question was which song to choose.
I feel that Cowboy Style is a song that truly represents the entire late-90s "neglected" era of her career. Sonically, it is much more stripped back than her previous work, yet also experimental. The song is a strange foray into country-pop, yet it works. The guitar and yodels make it sound almost like a parody, but it's a very sweet and genuine song. Lyrically, 1997 saw a mature and weathered Kylie writing an entire album for the first time. She wrote more philosophically, thinking about love and life. This is clear on Cowboy Style, where she uses metaphors like "temple" to describe her love for her boyfriend. We get a glimpse into Kylie's thoughts, rather than her singing lyrics other people wrote, like usual.
Even among the album Cowboy Style is underrated. It saw a limited release in Australia in 1998, only peaking at 39. Even on ATRL the song did not crack the top 40 in any of the rates it was included in. The song, and album it comes from, are brushed over due to being different from "normal" Kylie and yet I find myself wishing Kylie would return to this more mature and interesting sound rather than rehashing her songs from 2004. It is a hugely underrated song that truly deserves recognition.

Birds Of Prey
This song comes from the Bionic album. This automatically means that very few people have got the honour chance to listen to it for obvious reasons. Considering that it's not even on the standard edition on the album, not even all of the already few people that bought the album have actually heard this particular track. And it's such a shame.
Birds Of Prey is a creation from Christina's original concept of Bionic, which she had described as organic, futuristic and unique. Sadly, on the album we actually received, Birds Of Prey is one of the very few tracks that matches this declaration. Christina is the track's main songwriter and lyricist, while underground indie pop/ electro group Ladytron take credit for production. This is what the group said about their work with Christina.
Quote:
We were impressed because she had a real deep knowledge of our music – album tracks, not just the singles. We went in with no expectations; the whole thing was a massive surprise. But it was incredible. She was so musically talented, a vocalist who really knows her voice. The first takes sounded really amazing, and while we'd made demos, it was only when her voice was on them that it all came to life
The reason why I chose this as her most underrated song is because most people think Christina's back catalogue is all about pop ballads and loud vocals. This song is exactly the opposite. Christina proved that she was capable of more. She showcased a different side of her in a way that very few popstars except for Madonna (Erotica, ROL) and Kylie (Kylie Minogue, Impossible Princess) have managed to do. This is the track that makes her entire discography shine brighter and in a more versatile way. Too bad noone knows it exists.
Disappointed that "Tied Together With A Smile" wasn't used. Also a little upset that some people felt the need to downgrade their entries because people were complaining about them last entry.
1. Jax - I absolutely love Barbie ****! You've really shown all sides of the same coin.

1. e437 - Not that length is an issue, but you could've said a LOT more to truly back up your case. Quality > Quantity. I just don't think you've delivered. You stated that You Love Me is overlooked, which is what makes it underrated. It seems as though you're trying to force something onto the judges. There's not much to critique here. Nevertheless, what hasn't been said is sometimes even more telling.
2. BlazingLovatic - I don't like the reasons you chose, sorry. It's an interesting direction but I would've liked more of a balance. This is 'Most Underrated' NOT 'Most Forgotten'.
3. Posh - You, more or less, described the song rather than selling IT if that makes sense. The entry is very cute since you did list all the reasons why you think that After All is underrated. I would've like more structure and orientation.
