More gravelly than an unpaved road, Johnny's voice was seemingly made by cracks and tears. But those imperfections made him one of the most credible storytellers of his time.
Ace, this is legitimately beautiful. I'm glad Johnny got the respect he deserved on this list.
Also, Thom Yorke! Can't help but love that guy's voice. He may be whiny, but it's effective as hell.

I think our esteemed poster said all that needed to be said about Maxwell, so let's move onto Elvis.
There are a lot of things to not appreciate about Elvis (him taking the black man's act and making it popular and then being credited with it is number one), but one can't hate his voice. What a voice - smooth as velvet, with unexpected texture, utilized for heartbreak at every turn.
Maxwell is undeniably one of the best male vocalists of his time, if not the BEST. Although known for his piercing falsetto, his ability to convey emotion and pain with his voice is unparalleled.
