If Roar and all THAT promo couldn't get her past 300K, I don't know what could. (You could try it by saying a 99cent discount, but apparently PRISM isn't worth losing any money for). But good luck to Katy w/ this new era, I'm excited to see what else she comes up with this time around.
lol prism will be fine and a huge success for katy and capitol. it will be a top holiday seller, contains a couple #1s, and has endless promotion opportunities all the way through the grammy's.
i did think at this point in her career she'd be able to generate some bigger numbers and immediate interest, but i guess that's never going to happen.
will it top teenage dream? no, but i don't think anyone expects it to. teenage dream had that 1-2 punch with Firework/E.T. that really propelled it into 2011 and after that they just milked the eff out of it. Really a great time for her.
I can't at people thinking that 3 year promoting an album and selling 5-6M WW is better than selling 6.2M In 1 year ...

Agreed, all of the wasted money I bet the album would've sold only 10-20k less without the HUGE radio deal and commercials and yet I think they invested lots and lots of money in those.

I don't see the problem we all know that Katy isn't an album artist and around the 300k mark is fine... sure, it may be underwhelming but Teenage Dream opened with 192k. She's growing and improving all the time and that's all that matters, at least to me anyway. PRISM will continue to sell and will have great longevity though so I understand why you're all pressed and worried
