No you shouldn't. At least with the previous update you can still click on the pokemon icon on the nearby map and know that you're walking in the right direction by seeing it pulsate.

Pretty sure the thing always pulsated whenever it detected a location change, regardless of whether you were headed in the right direction.

Most people were just using it as a workaround for the broken radar system that Niantic had implemented themselves.

Is there any info on why Niantic disabled the footsteps? I presume they're not coming back.

EDIT: Bye, they also took away the good/great/excellent EXP bonuses and reduced the scan radius by 30% in the latest update. **** Niantic.

The tracking system always made me mad tho cuz it was broken. I'm glad they removed the steps as long as they bring them back fixed eventually.

I never understood the whole tracking/footprint feature in the first place. I only ever saw 3 footprints, so it didn't help anyway.

Does anyone's Poké balls no longer shake when you're in the process of capturing a Pokémon? Is that a part of the new update? If so, I hope they fix that, because I was under the impression that my app froze and was a second away from closing it, until "Gotcha!" appeared on the screen.

The first Pokemon that appears is the closest. The last one on the list is the furthest. It's easy y'all.

You mean the shake three times before capture? Yh mine still does it after updating, I realised though after going out today that now pokemon reject pokeballs alot more for me, whereas before I'd only get them trying like maybe twice for an encounter, now it's like 8 times or so ughh

How do I check the IV stuff you guys keep talking about? I have a couple Drowzee's and idk which to transfer & which to keep?

And I agree with others. I'd rather have no footprints than seeing 3 footprints all the time. It's no different. Also the pulsating thing never worked for me. It would pulse once and then just stopped completely.

You must have started the game late then, because originally the footprints would go from 3, to 2, to 1 depending on how close you were to that specific Pokemon, so it let you know if you were walking in the correct direction or not. Shortly after the worldwide release, the steps started glitching resulting in it always being 3 steps.
