Christina Aguilera's tell-all interview with Capital FM
"I'm past proving myself and seeking validation from others"
"Hell is something all around us; we are Hell"
"Kids are monsters, mine aren't"
![](http://i5.minus.com/i58zOaKmr6fnV.png)
Yesterday morning, Christina Aguilera - the voice of our generation - greeted us with a friendly face and gorgeously laid hair with her signature red lips. It was the first Aguilera's ever visited our studios before although she did sit down for a quick chat during the Stripped era although that was back in 2002 and never broadcast. We must admit she was a bit flimsy around everything technical, however, her charismatic beauty was undeniably breathtaking as you would imagine...being an average radio host and all.
Christina's publicist was the only other person in room with us. She sat down, grabbed a coffee and enjoyed the interview. It was a nice little moment that I noticed. Usually, we'd be hammered by no-nonsense management censoring what we can and can't allude to but our first experience interviewing Xtina was one to be remembered. "Hello guys, well, I'm here now so shall we begin? Do you want to go personal or address some rumours first? I'd be happy to oblige", the mother of two quickly tooted at us. We had no idea she was so witty and, like she said, let's begin!
TRANSCRIPT
FM: Hi Christina, you look absolutely gorgeous by the way... so let's start off with an easy one - what are your thoughts on this whole promoting aspect of being in the music industry? Do you find it tedious? I mean, this is your first time being in the UK for a long-
X: Um yeah, I don't really tend to give any satisfaction to the negative side of things. Promoting your stuff isn't necessary. In my eyes, anyway. There's nothing tedious about wanting to make sure your **** if heard by as many people as possible. It's natural to feel the need to be validated by others but I'm past that, I'm past proving myself. Yes, while it may be true that I haven't visited in a long while...I don't see why that should matter. I've settled down quite a lot these past few years and matured into the woman that I am today. If it makes me a bad person for not promoting my projects then so be it. People are going to flock to whatever they feel drawn to. It's fine if you feel intimidated by an independent woman such as myself.
FM: Okay so, on a lighter note, how does it feel to be a mother to your children?
X: Oh, I could talk about that all day. It doesn't feel anything. I just am more fulfilled and can leave this filthy ass world without thinking I've birthed a couple of monsters in my lifetime. My children feed me with their love. They're so cute. Yesterday, Max showed me a drawing he drew of his mommy; the powerhouse diva. I was like: "Wow, kids these days must know everything". *cackles* It wasn't like this back in the day, I know that for sure. Now each and every 5-year-old has a smartphone. I can't keep up! There are a lot of evils out there but it's always been like this. We shouldn't think that oppression is something new when that's how good is created, you know? Good is able to flourish with the bad and whatnot. It's crazy to think that this idea of "struggle" is something that has been increasing ever since. No, it only seems that way because we're living in a Hell right now. I'm not that religious, however, I do realise that Hell isn't something underground with fire and fun. It's something all around us. We are Hell, you know?
FM: We love your new record, Waves. Please tell us more about it!
X: Waves is a song that connects with all of us, I feel. It's about an outcast who becomes so enamoured with trying to mould themselves into something that they believe could make them fit in with "the waves". I definitely invested a lot of time into this song, you know, with Mark Ronson who's a pure visionary of the purest form. He's amazing. We wanted together for quite some time now so I'm glad we finally have something to be proud of. The creative process went on for weeks on end but it was totally worth it. Would Mark and I work together again? Sure, of course! Let's see how I feel next year and maybe we could sort something out, definitely. The lyrics are also incredibly dear to my heart. They spoke to me in a matter of seconds. Every single time I go on that stage and perform Waves, I can't help but tear up. It's everything I dreamed of and more. So yeah, Waves is one of my prouder moments as a "pop star" if you will.
END OF TRANSCRIPT
To our shocking disbelief, approximately 3.5m listeners tuned in for that broadcast which is record high here at Capital FM. A lot of you guys were committed on trying to get Miss Aguilera to answer most of your questions but unfortunately we had a set window of time allocated. She did say that she loves her Fighters a lot though and will arrange something soon in order to make sure you are all heard. How nice of her to do that, right?
For the rest of this month we'll be spinning Christina's lead single - Waves - off of her 8th upcoming studio album every hour, on the dot. Be sure to tune in throughout the month for opportunities to potentially win tickets for Aguilera's worldwide tour that is happening soon, we promise. Here at Capital FM, Waves is a song that is wholeheartedly up our street. From the beat to Xtina's soaring vocals, it's a fantastic record. I'm sure you all agree.
Xtina's lead single, Waves, is available for purchase NOW.

Avril Lavigne Visits KIISFM to Launch New Single
Today is the big day for Avril Lavigne and her fans ever since she made an announcement regarding her newest label deal. A single from her sixth album was also announced. A music video is also set for premiere after we hear the single on radio stations.
We have the Pop Rock Royalty Avril Lavigne here to talk about everything stored for her in 2015
Ryan Secreast: It's my pleasure to see you once again, how are you doing?
Avril Lavigne: Same here Ryan, Im feeling nervous and thrilled because I know that my single will be released today.
Ryan: Feel comfy, By the way I'll be seeing you on New Year's Rockin Eve! Congratulations for headlining the show!
Avril: Thank you Ryan, I will be performing five songs and I can confirm now that there'll be a duet performance that Ill be doing with one of my music idols! Of course, I will also perform I'll Lie To Myself. Perfect for the winter weather right?
Ryan: Yes! We cant wait for that night to happen! You will also guest on Glee's final season, whats your role?
Avril: I will be playing the role of Darren Criss' long lost sister. The role I have is technically a loser in life so I try to make Darren feel the same too.
Ryan: Oooh, looks like you're a villain there? That is challenging.
Avril: Yes Ryan, But the story of my character will be redeemed towards the middle of the season. So Gleeks won't totally hate me there.
Ryan: Great! I see you are also busy right now with the album and everything, Can you tell us something more about it?
Avril: Sure, My album is entitled "Heartfelt Confessions" and its really personal to me so I dont mind being busy to promote it coz I believe on this album. It will be released on 1/5/15.
But before that, My fans are in for a treat because I will be releasing a single today and a music video as well.
Ryan: Your single "I'll Lie To Myself" is really refreshing. To be honest, I can feel that its going to be a hit. How did you end up doing this powerful ballad?
Avril: Oooh, That song really is like my baby. All of the lines came from me with the help of Dan Wilson and Ryan Tedder. We really get along very well and that could be attributed for the song's positive responses.
Ryan: I know we are all excited to hear the song right now, Can you please introduce it to us?
Avril: Sure, Hi guys! This is Avril Lavigne and here is the world premiere of my new single "I'll Lie To Myself"
[The song plays]
after the song plays, Ryan talks to Lavigne again.
Ryan: Wow, just wow. I can really feel the pain! I congratulate you for doing this song.
Avril: Thank you Ryan, This song will forever be in my heart not because of the huge positive responses but also because its really the song that I can truly defend to everybody. Hearing people liking it makes me feel more special.
Ryan: You should be, This song is a gem. You say you have a video for it right?
Avril: Yes, The music video will be released tonight. So I suggest you guys to prepare your kleenex coz it will be a feels trip.
Ryan: I agree, We saw the teaser and its sure to be brilliant since you also casted Jared Leto on that video, In fact, we have him on the phone to show you support.
Avril: Oh my gosh!
[Jared Leto thru phone patch] : Hi Ryan, Hi Avril. I just listened to the song and I feel like I should do a cover to this song teehee!
Ryan: We are waiting for that, Whats it like to work with Avril?
Jared: Its really a great time because you know she is really serious with her craft. The video is emotionally demanding for us but it didnt turned out to be hard because we are on the same page. Right Avril?
Avril: Yes! You really helped a lot, The scenes we shot are very hard to do if we aren't committed to the song.
Ryan: Wow, We are excited for that. So can you invite our listeners/viewers to watch your video tonight?
Jared: We are inviting you to watch the video to I'll Lie To Myself tonight, Avril and I are very proud of that video so your support is deeply appreciated.
Avril: First of all, Thanks Ryan for guesting me. And Jared, Thanks for doing this phone interview! Hey guys, The video to my newest single wil be released tonight and let us all watch it! Thanks for the continuous support! I love you all!
Ryan: There you have it, Thanks Jared Leto and Avril Lavigne!
(crowd on the booth cheers and claps their hands)

Taylor Takes on The Echo Awards
Taylor Swift’s activity as of late has been quite the anomaly. When releasing new material, the singer-songwriter can been seen constantly all around the world promoting her music but as of late we’ve seen the singer out in Frankfurt with boyfriend Simon Nessman going out for lunch, runs in the park, and even heading to a recording studio. The performance of Swift’s new single ‘Style’ has been a great success for the singer but it’s doing nowhere as great commercially as Swift’s past new releases. Perhaps some reasoning behind this is the fact that the song’s been out and available for the past six months, as it’d originally been on her album 1989. Swift finally commented about the negativity she’d been receiving from her fans on Twitter, saying, “If you guys don’t chill. I told you all this era is all about enjoying the music. So what if I have a single that flops? I mean if I’d never released Psycho I would have like eight consecutive number ones but we saw how that turned out. Chill. I’m off to cuddle with bae, l8r.” Fans grew angry and eventually, an announcement came that Swift would be performing at the 2014 Echo Awards held in Frankfurt.
Immediately, the announcement relieved fans as Taylor was seen rehearsing for the first ever big performance of ‘Style’ since it’s release as a single this past Wednesday. The singer-songwriter tweeted a picture with the caption, “finally rehearsing ‘style’. didn’t really know what i was doing for the performance until today. #hahatewmessy #pussybeflaminfromthegoodcanadianDtho”. This too sent fans into a frenzy and media outlets capitalized on the eerie tweet before Swift would take the stage a few hours later.
The introduction to the performance was done by friend of Taylor Swift, Karlie Kloss. “Everyone please join me in welcoming a very talented lady, who’s done nothing but stay true to herself and her craft, the wonderful and absolutely gorgeous, Taylor Swift!” The lights immediately dimmed to pitch black the audience buzzing in excitement. The opening guitar riff of ‘Style’ hit and a dim but dark red light shined over the stage, revealing Taylor standing in front of a pure white wall, in a black Pins & Needles Sequin Cropped tank top, with a tight black sequined skirt to match.
Taylor started off the performance first by singing into her sequined studded black microphone, leaning back against the wall, sliding down a little the wall in seductive way as she sang the verse. As the pre-chorus hit, a ray of light shined, revealing a male figure standing across from her, a good distance away. It being one of her dancers, she stares at him seductively, a closeup of her eyes looking towards him being shown, along with a shot of him doing the same.
From there, Taylor began to slide further down the wall, flipping her hair and touching on the wall (and herself) as she sang the chorus. A backing track kicked in to disguise some of the pitch problems during the chorus but Swift’s strong stage presence distracted the viewers, along with her beauty.
The second verse consisted of dancers, females joining Taylor on stage as she appeared to be standing straight back up, her eyes locked on her lover. They began touching on her legs, Swift pulling one up to strip off a piece of outfit, revealing her in a more provocative piece prior to her initial outfit. The other dancers removed the same piece before Taylor did a hair flip, sending them into the second chorus. From there, Swift broke out into choreography, dancing in a pair of six inch studded heels. The choreography was basic and cute, involving mostly hand movements and the movement of Swift and the dancer’s hips. “And a tight little skirt” Swift sang sexily, dipping down to poke her hip out, running her hand down the curve of her slim body.
The girls would continue the choreography before Taylor would break off into a strut towards her lover, serving a model tea as an extended version of the transition between the second chorus and bridge of the song played. When Taylor reached her dancer, she would be embraced, his hands running down her body as she belted out the notes of the bridge. “Take Me Home!” Swift belted out before her dancer would lay her on the floor of the stage, kissing down her neck, a smile of pleasure on Swift’s face. She would switch around, mounting him before he would lift her, putting her back on her feet. She hit a few new ad-libs here and there before her and her dancer would be enraptured in darkness, marking the end of the performance.
Swift’s single ‘Style’ is out now and her first ever Greatest Hits album will be released next week.

Feeling of Acrimony Video is Released
![](http://i.guim.co.uk/static/w-620/h--/q-95/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2014/10/31/1414786134293/fka-twigs-012.jpg)
Today FKA twigs uploaded the music video for Feeling of Acrimony. The music video was uploaded onto FKA twigs' YouTube VEVO account after a series of ominous tweets from twigs herself. Feeling of Acrimony's music video is being promoted around YouTube's website by being the advertisement that appears at the beginning of every YouTube video. Along with this, the music video will be advertised with VEVO's banners that line the side of music videos. The only other artist that has advertisements this large is Azealia Banks, fellow labelmate.
No one suspected the video for Feeling of Acrimony would be coming today. Especially considering that FKA twigs had said nothing beforehand of when the video would be coming. However, fans were more than happy to get the video. While simple, the video is artistic and has been praised by fans and critics alike. The video features FKA twigs head rotating with a blank stare on her face. The gray background changed to images of vintage ****, 70s sci fi, and 80s horror movies. When the chorus came, twigs' head would begin to twitch and the images behind her would flicker and change. Along with this, her hair began to defy gravity and fly throughout the video. The video has caused great controversy with the addition of all the NSFW things. The video has been put on an age restriction lock.
Despite the controversy from parents, the video has a 99% approval rating. Along with this, the video has been a big hit and is expected to gain 2-3 million views within 24 hours. NME praised the video as a work of art. FKA twigs tweeted that she plans to release more visuals for the Against the Front album. Like said earlier, she claims to have visuals for each song on the album. However, this has yet to be proven true. We can only wait and hope that the other visuals will be as good as this one. Be sure to purchase Against the Front on iTunes today as well as purchase Feeling of Acrimony on iTunes.

Nicki Minaj
for Billboard
Somewhere in Trinidad, in a gourmet restaurant, sits Nicki Minaj. I'm sitting across from her, using my phone to record our conversation. It's been a hell of a year for Ms. Minaj. "I lost the love of my life, but gained a whole new view on the world." After the release of her album "The Pinkprint", Nicki began writing for her next album immediately. "I was like, 'There, I made my depressive, slow album.' I felt like I needed to get my groove back. When I think of myself and my art, I think of it as a pendulum. Now that I've done the sad part of that time in my life, I feel like I'm dying to rap about the good times. It'll be better than the first time, and way different from The Pinkprint." Her phone buzzes. "Who is it?" I ask. "My manager. We're shooting the Trinidad cover this week, and I wanted to make it natural. We used clothes we bought from a market in Trinidad, and we'll be shooting it in a studio here in Trinidad." That's why I traveled to Trinidad to talk to Nicki. "I also have a secret project I'm filming here. My life is a constant stream of project after project after project. I love the life I live, I'm not complaining, and I want to live this life until I have kids."
"What would you say is the hardest thing you've had to do for this album?" I ask Minaj. "Getting the song Ladies Night made. It's a remix of the song of the same name, and I wanted it to be the girl anthem of 2015. I was worried it would be impossible to get anyone on it, it seemed like such an out there idea. I called up Azealia Banks to be on it first. I knew I wanted her on this song from the moment I had the idea to do it. Her being on the song sparked a friendship between us, it's really nice having such a kind and well spoken girl on your side. She asked me to be on the remix of her song Metamorph, and I agreed instantly. We've continued to talk about other collaborations to do in the future. She's on one of the Target edition songs, as well. It's called "Roman VS." and it's basically a rap battle between Azealia as her alter ego Yung Rapunxel and Roman. We had so much fun making it, it's something the hood'll bump for years to come. Ariana Grande is also on the song. She sings the chorus, obviously, but she also has a part where she does a semi-rap. She's such a doll, and I love working with her. The other girls on the song are a secret for now!" Nicki answers.
"Why Trinidad?" I ponder to Nicki. "Well, I was born here. That's why!" She chuckles. "Nah, I'm just playing. Honestly, the Trinidad I have in my mind for this album is not from this world. It's a kinda super sonic world. Electro, disco, party. It's crazy futuristic. It has the same island influence to it, though. The title track is the closer of the standard edition of the album. It's not really a story album, but this song just sorta brings everything together. It's an upbeat album for the most part, but not crazy upbeat. Its mellow. Like you can smoke to this album. But anyways, theres a sequel to the album on the second disc which is available at Target. It starts out on Pinkslam, the planet this version of Trinidad is on. It's basically something my fans have been asking for for a while, a story about Roman. My favorite track from it would either be Roman In Trinidad or Roman VS. It's all very exciting, and I'm happy that I can put it out there."
"Austin Mahone is also on the album, on this song that takes place at an underground drag race in Trinidad. My vision is that I'm driving in this race and Austin is singing on the radio, and it keeps me going. Like my adrenaline is pumping and its just a fun track. I already have an idea for a video! I did a commercial for Target, and in it I was driving down the road in the electric Trinidad. Basically, in that ad, I'm on my way to the race. Austin would be racing with me as well, but sorta tag team the race. Its a party song, clubs will love it for sure."
"I wanted to dance to this album. Some songs I know aren't very danceable songs, though. I may release a remix album for those, who knows! But I know everyone will get down to a lot of the songs on it. There's this one twerk anthem on it, Go Hard, that ratchets will love. I have a song you can vogue to, called Work Me, that actually samples Fierce by Azealia Banks. The Heat is a very sexy song. I imagine girls, and guys, will be playing it as they grind up on they man. Definitely a song you **** to, ha ha. Hm, let me think of another dance track... Oh! Space Jam, it's on the Target edition of the album. It samples the song Space Jam, and it goes so hard. Makes you shake ya ass uncontrollably!"
"My move to a new label has been something that people might think of as a surprise, but sometimes you just gotta have a change. I always had creative control, but being on Demo Records is just refreshing. The label has a New Years Ever thing they're doing, and I'll be performing on it. They have a lot of amazing artists, a few I actually have songs with."
Nicki Minaj's new album "Trinidad" comes out on January 12th. With collaborations with Azealia Banks, Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone, and more, it is definitely a musical event that will be remembered for years. You can purchase the album on iTunes or at Target to receive 7 exclusive songs.

Promoting her single "Feeling of Acrimony" as well as her album 'Against the Front', FKA twigs performed at the highly anticipated V Festival this Saturday. Fans around the world gathered by tens of thousands just waiting for twigs to take the stage and do her set. No one knew what she would perform and if it would be old or new. They just were there to see twigs in live form. Before the performance, twigs was seen venturing around the festival signing autographs and taking pictures with fans where they have all been posted on Instagram. twigs tweeted about the festival saying "My favorite festival! Love you guys! xox #VFestival"
FKA twigs opened her set by performing "Feeling of Acrimony", the lead single off of her album 'Against the Front'. twigs wore the outfit above. KATY PERRY PERFORMING AT THE ECHO MUSIC AWARDS - AVOIDS TAYLOR SWIFT(?)
Global superstar, Katy Perry, performed the lead single of her upcoming album, "Forbidden" at the Echo Music Awards in Frankfurt. Other performers included her bad blood, fellow popstar Taylor Swift.
Firstly, Katy announced her performance through twitter:
"@katyperry: visiting Germany today for a very special performance of my new single #HotPot, don't miss me xx"
Katy Perry opened the big show performing "Hot Pot" which is already out. The open started and the host introduced Katy in German language. Then, the whole arena went dark and the song started. Katy and her beautiful and loyal dancers started to dance to the David's, Calvin's and Benny's beat. The choreo remained the same as the one at Katy's performance on the X factor. Despite this, Katy's vocals were on point during the song. The bridge of the song allowed Katy to show her improved vocals compared to the ones back to the TD or even the PRISM era. The dancers' choreo was amazing&intense, too, keeping the crowd's interest at its highest point, along with Katy's presence. When the song ended, the crowed was way much too excited and the camera was capturing Katy's bright smile. Katy thanked the crowd and left the stage.
The leader of the Katycats was wearing a punk-inspired outfit of ankle boots, fishnets, a red plaid mini kilt and dark gothic makeup, topped off by a green and black black wig, keeping her 'dark' theme tradition, introducing more people into her new era that is upon us.
Katy, proving herself as the global superstar she is, performed the song in the US and Germany so far. She is expected to perform the song in other countries, too. The song is the lead single of her new album which is coming on January 4th. "Hot Pot" is already serviced on the radio stations and it's available to buy and stream.
Echo music awards included Taylor swift as one of the show's performers, too. Even though being on the same place, Katy didn't come across with Taylor. Asked about that, Katy's assistant responded "she just didn't see her, journalists should stop creating drama from nowhere".

TAYLOR HAS MELTDOWN ON SATURDAY NIGHT ONLINE
![](http://36.media.tumblr.com/6cb7e34b2cce27605918deb9a8ea4980/tumblr_ng72a3daSg1u3ca5ko2_r1_250.png)
Taylor Swift visited Saturday Night Online tonight for an exclusive interview and performance. Swift was announced last minute as a guest. It wasn’t until candids of Taylor and her boyfriend were released simultaneously as the interview took place did people realize that it was pre-recorded. Fans were slightly confused as they’d been told by Saturday Night Online on Twitter to send in questions for Taylor to answer live. As one can could conclude, that did not happen as fans turned to both Taylor and Saturday Night Online for an answer. They got none.
The interview was one of Swift’s better ones since the begging of the Yours era. She talked her new music, the Greatest Hits album (Yours: The Greatest Hits) that’s due to be released next week, along with her brand new single ‘Style’, along with whom in the industry she’d love to collaborate with, along with that allegation that she copied Justin Bieber’s Greatest Hits album idea. Swift’s response was well worth listening to the entire interview. Taylor too would pick up her guitar and perform a wonderful acoustic version of ‘Style’ that showcased some raw and powerful vocals from the songstress.
“Everyone please welcome the wonderful and lovely Taylor Swift to the airwaves.”
“Well hello listeners and the wonderful members of Saturday Night Online. It’s so great to be here. I’ve missed you guys. I think the last time I was here I had to call in and now I’m here face to face with you guys. It’s absolutely wonderful.”
“Alright so you’re obviously kicking off 2015 in a very big way, tell us a little about some of those plans you have.”
“Well you do have one thing right, I am kicking off 2015 as big as I think I possible can. 2014 was absolutely amazing for me, I released I believe the best material I’ve ever recorded to date and hopefully I’m going to top that to make 2015 even more prodigious. Oooh, I like that word. But like I was saying, my plans for 2015 are pretty huge and precise. I have a new album… or should I say albums coming out, some new films I’m excited to release and of course that tour. That wonderful tour I start next week.”
“Before we get to the album and single, we’re going to get to both, let’s talk about the tour. Tell us how it’s all going to go down. What’s the stage setup, what songs are definitely making the setlist?”
“The tour is definitely going to be one of if not my biggest tour to date. The stage is absolutely massive as well as the lighting, the arrangements for the songs, the amount of variety. It’s all really big. And um some of the songs that I know for sure I’m performing is um.. of course ‘Style’ and some other of the 1989 hits like ‘Blank Space’, ‘Shake It Off’, and ‘How You Get The Girl’. They are all on the setlist. I also have a few covers I’m excited for. I’m actually covering a really good Madonna song that I love a lot. So hopefully people really like it.”
"You said earlier you were going to release of course the Greatest Hits album in 2015 but you also made the form of word plural. Is there a full studio album with new material coming?”
“I’m always in the studio recording and writing and I doubt that will ever change so of course there is the possibility of a new album coming at anytime. I mean right now I have an album that’s ready for release. All I’d have to do is do a photoshoot for it and put it on iTunes. I mean it’s even mastered and a music video has been shot for the first single. It’s just not time for me to release it.”
“Can you tell us some about it? What’s it like? When will it be released?”
“It’s definitely a throwback of an album. It’s very 80s pop meets 2010s pop in a really huge and emotional way kind of. It’s pure fun and catchy, it’s basically a combination of the pop music i grew up on and what I’m really digging today. It’s far better than I’m describing it though. As for it’s release, I’m not sure. I think I’m going to start a new album and just see what I want to do with that one after.”
“Why that? Why are you going to start a whole new album instead release one that’s ready?”
“I’m kind of tired of pop music. Not tired of it as I don’t like it but I think I really need to take on a new sound or direction, or just go back to my roots, you know? I’m not leaving pop… at least not for good, I just want to go in a different direction. I’m maturing and things around me are really moving fast at the same time so I want to write songs that capture the moments I’m having in slow beautiful melodies with poetic like lyrics. I can’t really do that over a fun synth pounding Max Martin beat.”
“So what will the next album sound like?”
“You’ll get a taste of it on the Greatest Hits album. There’s a song on there that I think people will really love because I love. It’s almost a return to my roots and it definitely takes on a new sound that I’ve been dying since like 2007 to take on. I’m not going to tell you which track, though.”
“Alright let’s address this allegation of you copying the idea of Justin Bieber’s greatest hits album thing.”
“A Greatest Hits album… a greatest hits album is a very nonspecific thing nowadays. The fact people have to jump to those conclusions, the fact they have to put my name in their headlines, no matter if it’s an article on the Daily Mail or a magazine cover for a music magazine, just to sell the story or their issue that month, it’s really funny to me. What Justin told you happened, did happen. He was doing his thing and we had this conversation about how we were both sort of the biggest artists in the world at that moment. I mean if you look at the charts these past few years, me and Justin are the two names you see the most. We both have over ten hits just from our past three albums, and he was like “I’m doing a Greatest Hits album”. I was like, “Well if you’re doing that, I might as well do one. We both have way too many damn hits anyway.” It was more of sarcasm that being real but he was like “do it. I think it’d be a good move.” That’s how it happened. Justin and I even poke fun in our text messages now at how I “copied” him. There’s no drama between us so I don’t know why everyone is getting so riled up about it. We’re friends, business partners, and icons. Our legacy and places in music are solid in stone. We have absolutely nothing left to prove.”
