3rd Class: ENGLISH
Charm Schoolers, welcome to your mandatory English class. More specifically, we will look at your writing and composition in the form of your posts. Being a poster with a good reputation on ATRL stems directly from the posts you make. Others see your posts, and based off what they are like, they either form a positive or negative opinion about you. In this assignment, you'll learn and practice ways to make your posts higher quality, therefore improving your reputation in the eyes of the ATRL masses.
Low quality posts don't get you noticed. We've all seen the type, the blur of posters rushing into a thread to comment with only a smiley or GIF or some rush typed out sentence that isn't even legible. You can't tell these posters apart. On the other hand, think swissman - everyone knows him for his intelligent, concise, and well stated opinions. Which would you rather be?
Your assignment is to choose THREE of the topics below, and for each one write a low quality response and a high quality response. This will show us that you know the difference. When in doubt, consult the following primer, prepared with love by yours truly:

LOW QUALITY POSTS:
- have improper spelling and grammar
- appear to be typed in a rush
- are a single smiley or gif, that adds little depth to the conversation at hand
- quote another post and simply say "this!", have no independent thought of their own
- drag for the sake of being rude
- are off topic
HIGH QUALITY POSTS:
- correct spelling and grammar is a MUST
- have thought, time, and effort put into them
- feature a properly/cleverly used gif/smiley, or none at all
- may quote others, but build on the existing ideas/opinions (or introduce a new thought) by taking it one step further or looking at it from an alternate viewpoint
- don't drag, but if required, will drag with wit, class, and respect
- stay on topic at all times

Remember, for each topic (choose 3) you need to show us one low quality post (get it out of your system!) and then one high quality post. Put some thought into this, because your high quality posts are the best way to improve your ATRL reputation - and for you irrelevants, are the best way to get noticed.
The topics you may choose from are:
- Blue Ivy gets a recording contract at the age of 3
- Katy Perry announces her return to Christian music
- Rihanna releases her 8th, 9th, and 10th album all together in a triple album format
- Britney launches a mental health initiative, in the vein of Born This Way foundation
- Gaga's hip recovery goes bad, wheelchair becomes permanent
- Ke$ha get sued by Millions of Moms for being a "bad influence" on young girls
I've chosen these topics carefully. There's potential for superficial "drag that pop girl!" mentality, but also underlying issues that could be carefully discussed and dissected. Let's see your best work!

Yes!
Your posts should be just like a reply in a thread on here, so don't dwell on length. You wouldn't write an essay for each one. Remember, quality >>> quantity. You can say lots in a few, well chosen words.

Thanks Anna. That really means a lot.
With this game I strive to make creative challenges that haven't been done to death in every other game. As well, I try to come up with a purpose for every challenge in this game - each assignment has a specific goal that will actually equip the students with a way to improve themselves, whether it's increased positivity, or better post quality, etc.

They can be totally different, if you'd like. I think there's a big difference in the opinions found in low and high quality posts. Think seething anger vs rationality and logic.
