So I'm almost done with Star Ocean and I have v mixed feelings:

The graphics are gorgeous and I'm obviously using the japaese voices, battles are fun at times but I always end up using Edge cuz OP.
The story is mediocre, and I was this close to quitting the game during Edge's meltdown, so ****ing annoying

After I'm done with this I'm gonna try and get platinum in Xillia

Ni no kuni, ha partner's AI, ha battle system full of flaws design, ha stupid final boss is getting on my nerves. The games is doing the absolute most

It is, aside from its battle system being the slowest in history! I was moreso talking about XIII!

So anyone else likes to platinum their jrpgs?

I already did it with Ni No Kuni, took me 100 + hours and I'm planning to plat Xillia 1 before i play the sequel

I usually get really close but something keeps me from actually platinuming it.

The only game I actually have a platinum for is Saints Row 3. I only have like, one or two trophies left for Ni No Kuni and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 (the one where you have to beat the game in 20 hours and the one where you have to beat it without changing your equiptment. )


Some of them have no chill though. Like, it's impossible to platinum Star Ocean.

omg. I've had to platinum every jrpg I had twice when I had to make a new PSN account.

I've platinumed Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2 and Xillia 1.

Wasn't going to try for Star Ocean's ridiculous plat. 500+ hours is hell, especially when imo, the game is mediocre.

It does, but it's a really great game. I can't wait for Bravely Second.

I agree with this, although the English voices didn't kill me that much. The plot def had some shaky moments but I enjoyed the characters individually. The gameplay I think is excellent though, on par if not superior to some Tales games.

Also I paid $80 for Xillia 2. What kind of nonsense is that?

Love it so far though. I've just started. I love how they integrated the jobs/debt system with the plot of the game, it gives it a nice change of pace. The game also looks fantastic and I'm noticing a few nice polished details in the towns/maps here and there.
