Who else but Lily Allen could take a song that samples "Reggae Merengue" by Tommy McCook and the Supersonics and takes some lyrical cues from a William Blake poem into the UK top ten? LDN, the second single from Lily's debut Alright, Still, did such a thing when it was released in September 2006. Never has Lily's gift of pairing cheery, chirpy music with acerbic and acidic words been put to better use. Shame for you all that it's not in the top twenty.

Especially because of some of the songs that are above it ...
