Nope, it's out on Wednesday 24th. All Japanese records are released on Wednesdays and all major music retailers in Japan (Tower, HMV, CDJapan & iTunes) have the release date as the 24th.
Carly Rae Jepsen appeared at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala on Thursday, and shared some details about the making of her upcoming album E·MO·TION, due out Aug. 21.
“Part of the mission was not just going with people that my A&R guy set me up with, but also just reaching out to artists that I loved and producers who I got wind of,” Jepsen told EW. “If they said yes, sometimes some magic happened.”
The “Call Me Maybe” singer didn’t specify which artists those were, but E·MO·TION features a stacked roster of collaborators that includes Sia, Ariel Rechtshaid (Haim, Sky Ferreira, Brandon Flowers), Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij, Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes, and Greg Kurstin (Kelly Clarkson, Foster the People).
Jepsen also specified two E·MO·TION songs beyond lead single “I Really Like You” that she’s eager for fans to hear. “I’m really excited about ‘Run Away With Me’ coming out,” she said. “ ‘Black Heart’ is one of my more quirky, weird ones, but I love it.”
I want to listen to Run Away With Me so bad. I can't stop replaying the live concert version.
