The video is perfect!!! Genius way of integrating the movie without the cliche montage of random movie clips. Totally brought a different perspective on the song. Didnt expect for them to bring out a narrative angle to the lyrics but it works. It could even work as an episode of the show itself. She's almost a planet or entity herself thats been hurt or has this sad backstory. It's like she's casting powers against any trespassers. The enterprise itself might literally be the brick (a possible obstacle for her) and she's about to sledgehammer them off like the badgal she is.

I love the video it brings a new dimension to the song, and I love that she's almost like this Extraterrestrial Sourcerer in the video. But the lyrics themselves are about overcoming setbacks which is so universal.

Rihanna could've easily given us Sledgehammer, Nothing's Promised, 45S, BBHMM, AO with some of the songs from Anti and it would've still blown unapologetic out of the water but it's obvious now she wanted to avoid the multi pop genre themes that her previous albums had and deliver something that's consistent sonically and thematically. Even if Sledgehammer isn't successful Rihanna has delivered so much quality lately that denying her growth would only be delusional at this point. This girl really has something special.

It's impressive that's she was able to retain the meaning of the song and apply it subliminally throughout the video.... Oh and the video is probably the best I've seen used her forehead since SOS.

I would love for Rihanna to also include more songs from her first 3 albums more on her next tour.

Songs such as Pon De Replay, If It's Lovin That You Want, SOS, We Ride, Don't Stop the Music, Disturbia, and other songs. Some of these have never even been performed in her most recent tours.

I think this is actually quite a popular opinion.
I understand why she doesn't do on tour however, it'd be nice if she did a summer festival circuit like 2012 and performs older songs.
