I honestly think that all the major pop stars we stan for are A list including the old ones Mariah, Madonna, Britney and todays flops. Maybe except Xtina and Disney girls like Demi and Selena.

A-List is one of the hottest right now, slaying in all aspects, etc. So yeah, Katy, Bey, and Taylor are A-List.

Gaga is B-List with Rihanna. They're not the hottest right now or slaying, but they're still relevant and not having albums struggle to go Gold or singles go T40 and just nostalgia at this point like Britney & Christina.

Ke$ha was a one time thing, has no following, has no relevance, and isn't really remembered. That's D-List, along with LMFAO and Ashanti.

X is still A-List to a certain degree. She still carries a heavy price tag w/ the Voice.

She's probably the weakest of the three.
But the three of them are the only ones who've had(will have)huge tours and an accompanying LP that sold 3M+ WW in the past two years.

You need to differentiate between name/brand recognition and consumer interest.

"Lady Gaga" is still an A-list name in the industry but she's C-list in terms of commercial power.

A list status depends on how much weight your name holds. It's not the same as being the it girl and their names hold alot of weight as celebrities even though they no longer can move records with them. That's just how I see it
