People predicted this ****ed up issue back in the 80s & it's totally destructive right now.

Lasch believes "cultural narcissism" is birthed through excessive search for one's self, obsession with individual lifestyle, and these patterns are upheld/triggered by obsession with celebrity culture, devaluation of the past, and intense fears of death/old age.

Narcissism is scary because it's focus begs outside of political freedom, and INSISTS on freedom for ones self at all costs. Definitely scary to see how this will grow.

Looking up to an artist who happens to be known is okay and even nice when your admiration is healthy (if you're a fellow artist and their work inspires you), but when you only look up to people for their looks or their money, what a way to waste your life
