And besides, how could the boys record for a soundtrack when they were busy on tour? That and logistics would have made a sound track impossible to fit in the schedule (and budget). IMO anyway.

They wouldn't have needed to record anything extra. Like I said, the soundtrack would include the live performances from the film and maybe a couple of the leftovers from MM.
