Am hoping GotG is somewhere in the high 80s, low 90s range to make up for this drought the past couple of months (apart from Edge of Tomorrow). This 4th of July crop was just pathetic.
Selena had the niche of the marginally talented, conventionally attractive white girl doing cute uptempo pop, risky enough for the 12 year old girls but still PG rated. Ariana has taken over and destroyed her there. What else can Selena do? She's not a particularly great dancer. Her voice has no identity of its own. She is not the most beautiful. She can't/doesn't write. She has no personal arc audiences can latch onto which even Demi has.

Ariana isn't interesting enough to be a full on pop girl. She's a bore and will always be dubbed as a "Mariah" copy. Selena isn't exactly interesting either but she's been a media icon ever since 2010. Ariana hasn't snatched anything.
