Madonna has never been near Gaga's level vocally. I'm not sure why they even get compared outside the "Born This Way"/"Express Yourself" drama.
Madonna is mean, an opportunist and a bigger narcissist than Gaga, who is nicer and more musically talented than Madonna. I mean, Cyndi Lauper is more talented than Madonna. That's why everyone thought Cyndi would outlast Madonna, but Madonna was far more savvy and wanted it way more than Cyndi.

Godga brought the ratings up from the snoozefest that was going on + I think American Sniper was the only hit movie nominated. I thought Neil Patrick Harris did a decent job but that joke with Octavia Spencer and his predictions were so stupid and fell flat every time.
