I don't think it's alleged. Taylor is most definitely the bigger artist in the US. Katy wins in single sales, but Taylor wins in everything else.

Taylor her Bad Blood video is whatever. Some scenes look stunning but some scenes look kinda cheap (the last one with red hair). Joseph Kahn always delivers good videos yet none of them ever wow me (except Toxic maybe like 10 years ago). It doesn't help that I fail to see any star presence in Taylor. Anyhow, Bey & Nicki their vid is better.

Who gives a damn when all of Katy her (heavily discounted) albums failed to go above "1989" on iTunes after her Super Bowl set? Taylor has WAY more star power in one finger than Katy in her entire body.
