I feel like if you're a really good Human Being, you can try to find something beautiful in every single person, no matter what. And it's a challenge, but, at the end of the day, I learned so much this year about that. I learned a lot about negativity. I learned a lot about people trying to tear you down, and I'm just not that person and I never will be. And I don't even want to fight back, because it's more important to me to keep writting music, 'cause that's all I really care about, it's the music. I am my music, I'm my hair, I am all of this. And that's why I say that I am you, because I feel like I learned that from you.
When I look at your eyes every night, I don't see a fan base that wants me to fight, or bite, or you know, be shady and ****y. The way that we all used to be. It's ok, you know, it's fine right? But, at the end of the day, we're at a new place in society now aren't we? Are we in a new place? Can I believe in being Born This Way? Can I be gay and not have to slice you? Can I be gay and not have to be a ****? Can I be gay and not feel that I have to --, or be shady? Or can I just be myself and not have to do that?
Things are really different now than they were 25 years ago.
