In order for someone to receive the message i.e. get a notification, you have to post on their wall. You can do it by going straight to their profile, or preferably click the "Wall-to-wall" link at the bottom right corner of their post, so you can see your whole conversation and reply.
I saw many people here don't like it. I think that it is chill and her vocals are on point. I can also relate to its lyrics. Also it fits so good between SOM and LOTB on the album.
