That's the point. With any white act, those in the genre can be and are seen as competition, but not in the black community. It's a general trend sadly. It's a case of 'one or none'. And black folk in general don't help the situation.

True but this doesn't apply in Brandy's case Beyonce and Rihanna are on different levels than her it's just the nature of this game at this point. And Brandy isn't their competition simply because she is an Teen R&B Icon she already has proved her stats and her prime was before a lot of girls, so I don't even put her in the same category. Plus I don't think Brandy fell off or can't get back on trajectory solely because of her looks because so many other factors come into play.

I haven't forgotten about the poor whites which is why I said many as opposed to just leaving the word out.Most poor whites I've seen don't live in the hood per se although many live in raggedy ass trailers or old, dilapidated houses out in the boondocks.The problem with some poor whites is that many of them often agree with anti-welfare talking points knowing damn well some of them are on government benefits.It's counterintuitive if you ask me.

That being said, the trailer park is different from the ghetto.You don't feel as much pressure to partake in things like Gangs (Drugs,beer, and guns are another story) as you would in the impoverished black neighborhoods simply because they live in a sparsely populated area.

Well exactly. But the boondocks are more similar to the ghetto than you'd think. Meth is crack. Drug dealing > getting an education. Poor access to health care, education, and opportunities in general.

I've noticed i.Tbh I'd be as scared going down a back road as I would in Southside Chicago. I have a feeling I'm not the ONLY black person that feels uncomfortable in a rural setting (especially those in the south)
