Honestly this is more memorable and packs a punch. We've all known Beyoncé can sing for 20 years. I adore 4 and it's her best album but it showcased her vocals so well and has stood the test of time (the past 5 years at least) that I'm just like, whatever I'll happily take an album of this now.

I agree with what you're saying. I think it's cool she's presenting this song the way she is. This is the type of thing most people are listening to right now. If she released a more traditional "artistic" song, meticulously crafted and produced, I don't think it would hit as hard. This is likely gonna get played at parties, have people singing along, and sink in in a completely different way than something like I Care or I was Here and I like that.
