According To Greta: 10/10
WOOOW! I've wanted to watch this movie since Hilary began filming it, and now I've just finished watching it...Hilary does a great job and shows she's capable of pulling Bonnie Parker well. Although this is not Oscar worthy (because the plot needed more drama and OBVIOUSLY a more dramatic ending) Hilary shows that she'll have a great career as a serious actress.
Having said that, let's talk about the movie itself, at first Greta seemed to be so annoying (but she does some HILARIOUS things ) but as the movie goes you can see that
she's just missunderstood, and you can see that she doesn't want to be as she's...sad, alone, missunderstood and that's why she wants to commit suicide
, her grandparents were the other characters that I liked especially Catherine (Ellen Burstyn), she and Hilary had some really emotional moments, and I liked the way their relationship progresses...as for Julie (Evan Ross), I think he was annoying, I mean
He didn't even seem to care when Greta's mother came to take her to that camp
I'm definitely buying the DVD and watching it on the cinema if it comes here
AND THIS IS HILARY'S BEST PERFORMANCE YET

Two movies I recently watched...
Orphan (A)
Great movie! One of the few "horror" movies that did have shaking a bit. Isabelle Fuhrman (Esther) did a fantastic job in her role, the ability to demonstrate two different personalities was great. The film did contain the clique ways to scare someone, I feel it could have done well without them. The twist, although shocking, was a tad predictable. The final scene was just stunning and gave that great feeling to the viewer. Based on my grade, you could tell I would recommend it to you.
Paranormal Activity (C)
One of the scariest movies of all time? Not even close. Let's face it, it was a very over-hyped movie. I'm not going to sit here and say it didn't scare me, because some parts did leave me frightened, but people made it seem like I would **** might pants in fear. The film is POV, which I don't like at all. It takes forever to actually get started but once it does, its a fairly decent film.

I've been wanting to see this ever since I looked up some projects Tim Burton was working on. To me it seemed like it would be an interesting take of a post-apocalyptic world, and one of the first animated films to dislodge itself from their younger demographic and appeal to a more mature audience.
I was sort of right. It is a gloomy looking film, and does press on a few mature themes, but I was let down a bit at how they were handled. For such an unhappy plot, I just didn't feel a connection to it. I would have liked them to have expanded on the back-story, adding that needed unconstrained material. Showing more death and destruction, and the government's involvement and power-driven actions. It was like it was trying to wear its Dad's pants, but they kept falling down.
That being said, I did enjoy the movie quite a bit. Although it wasn't as visually stunning as a Pixar film, (One would expect this, being on a fraction of the budget) it still has some scenes that left me in awe. The scenes which contained explosions or fire were just fantastic, beautifully crafted and complimented by the contrast from the gloomy surroundings.
It was a bit slow starting off, and I found it was poorly written and edited towards the beginning, but it did get better as the film went on. I think once you found out a few things, you sort of grasped the plot better, as the start of it didn't really seem to have any bar the cliche "rescue adventure" one. Once it got to the second half of the movie, I was enjoying myself quite a lot and thought the plot had some good ideas, and some great character development. I did enjoy seeing the bromance between 5 and 9.
Had it been given to Pixar, taken the risks to be more mature, and acquired a better screenwriter, I definitely think this could have easily been a masterpiece, much alone the lines of WALL-E. But I did enjoy it, and because of its potential, I'm giving it an 8. (Which happens to be my favourite character from the film)

Paranormal Activity-
Well after the comparison of The Blair Witch Project, I thought "God, this is going to be terrible", but I still thought I need to see this. And tonight I finally saw it. The beginning of it wasn't that great, and it took a while to build, but the ending was superb. The whole cinema were screaming. Loved it!
(8.5/10)

I watched 2012 last night .. finally after many sold out shows
It was great, I loved all the special effects, the storyline was a typical disaster idea
and it's kindda similar to "War of the Worlds" in terms of characters !!
9.5/10 .. but watch it in theatres coz I dont think it'll be very enjoyable watching it on comp or tv
