That's not true. Selena and Demi's songs sound very flat. Even though SIO is not a super sophisticated song, Taylor definitely put her soul into it and I can hear it. Don't worry, you'll get deep songs on 1989 for sure.

I love this song. It's a nice cute bop that has grown on me with more listens. The verses are a little weak but the prechorus and chorus are undeniably catchy. Slay!

Let's agree to disagree on the Demi Selena part. I go to Taylor for great lyrics and meaningful heartfelt songs: Begin Again, Last Time etc. I like IKYWT as well cause it was poppy but the lyrical quality was still there.

Shake it off is a Better "Who says" by SG. I will still wait to hear 1989 but it won't be an automatic buy.

Her last lead single was a bubblegum pop song, that didn't seem to affect her RED album sales negatively. She's always been more pop than country anyway. It's not her country fans that are buying her singles /albums. Therefore, I don't see an 80's inspired pop album really affecting her sales

Actually I beg to differ. Country listeners did contribute significantly to her sales I think, even though WANEGBT turned some of them off, the promo singles helped. That's what I think.
