Bang Bang lower than Azealia.
Btw shouldn't it be a yellow box instead of a green one?

i think because it what suits Colbie, i mean, she always consistent with her music, and her vocal fits the accoustic and laid back pop perfectly.
There are always some fans of that kinda songs out there.

Do you think we can review older albums during dry spells between releases? Would be kinda fun to have a little database for everything.

Hilary Duff - "Chasing the Sun"
I actually don't understand all of the hate towards this song. I do agree when people say it is underwhelming, but I don't find it as bad as others may I guess. The intro is really nice and cute, and the first verse is great. But when the chorus comes... I'm not a big fan. It's like there's no build-up and all the momentum is just nonexistent. The second verse is my favorite part, specifically: "In my pursuit of happiness, I realize that more means less / If I got love, then I am blessed / Oh, I know" is definitely the best part of the song. But once again, the chorus just comes in like that. The bridge is the worst part of the song. It's only two lines, and the transition into the repetition of the chorus' lyrics is not smooth at all. However, for some reason, although I find many little details of the song to be underwhelming... I still love this and it definitely grew on me more with every listen. I am intrigued to hear this album though

Anything Goes, the lead single from Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's jazz effort Cheek to Cheek, is a cover of a classic 1930s song. Unfortunately, because of this the instrumental sounds almost generic, like a jazz instrumental one could pull out of GarageBand. This doesn't ruin the song, however, as Gaga and Bennett's voices blend well. Even though Gaga has the vocal capability to overpower Bennett, she does a good job restraining herself and as a result the two sound good together. Despite being fitted with a current singer, the song still sounds very retro, but it is hard to not when you are doing a 1930s song. The track completely chilled me out. It's not very memorable, and it doesn't have much replay value. That said, it's an OK song and a nice song for Gaga to have on her resumé.

I agree with this but I think we should only review stuff from Jan 2014 onward.
I would like to see Rude or Love Runs Out reviewed, for example.

| Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga...a weird collaboration you can say, right? However, this is not the first time the two singers worked together. In 2011, another duet from the two was released, a cover of the classic "The Lady Is A Tramp". "Anything Goes", another classic, is the newest cover by the two which also acts as the lead single of their upcoming album "Cheek To Cheek". Even though I am not usually listening to jazz (sometimes I do when I'm at my grandpa cause he's putting all those CDs and vinyls and it's just an amazing experience), I think that this song is a good duet. Their voices blend very well and it just shows a different side of the controversial female singer. If people ever doubted Gaga's vocals, they need to check this because it'll prove them wrong. However, I did not expect a 2 minutes cover song as their lead single. I needed something original and that sounded like a classic. I hope that we'll hear something like that soon. Overall, I think that it's an amazing and relaxing song, very different than Gaga's previous work, and that's not a bad thing. Still, it's not as good as "The Lady is a Tramp". |

Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga - Anything Goes
I was definitely looking forward to Lady Gaga's jazz album with Tony Bennett. Their rendition of "The Lady is a Tramp" a few years ago was certainly a winner. There is no doubt Gaga is very talented, and I like it when artists do something outside of their comfort zone. Unfortunately, new single "Anything Goes" is a huge disappointment. It starts off innocently enough, but 30 seconds in Gaga starts yelling for some reason, and she keeps it up until the end. It's very grating and amateurish. Surely Tony could've given her some pointers, but I guess he felt too intimidated by her. Hope it's not a sign of things to come.

Hilary Duff - Chasing The Sun
I went into this with an open mind, but this is probably the most cringe worthy "song" I've ever heard. The vocals are absolutely atrocious, The lyrics are embarrassingly bad and the production is so basic and rushed, it sounds like the whole song was whipped up in 5 minutes. I was ready to forgive the horrible verses if there was a killer chorus but instead of a build up and pre chorus the verse just goes straight into this, monotonous, cheesy, uninspired "chorus" that's actually so bad, you could mistake it for a Rebecca Black song circa 2011. The rest of this abomination is just too much to handle, most of you probably won't get past the first chorus.
In summary, this song is disgusting and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I don't even have anything against Hilary, I tried to be as constructive as I could but it's just putrid. There's nothing else I can say about this monstrosity

SINGLE REVIEW
Gaga Shines in Anything.
An Anything Goes Single Review
How nice.
Lady Gaga shines alongside Tony Bennet in Anything goes, proving that she is not only talented but versatile. She begins in a sultry, feather light jazz vocal texture, emulating colors and textures common to the golden days of 50’s showpop to perfection. Tony serves his typical grandfather realness.
Gaga loses the jazzy vocal inflection after the first verse to keep up with the crescendo, which exposes her limits as a vocalist. This really takes away from the records authentic feeling, and could have been resolved by transposing the entire composition.
Either way, it’s a really nice and refreshing effort from Gags.

Hilary Duff - "Chasing the Sun"
Many were eagerly anticipating actress (and singer?) Hilary Duff's return to the spotlight. Personally, while I used Lizzie McGuire as a young lad, it's been so long since then that I couldn't have cared less about Duff's return. However, I am familiar with clinging to nostalgia, so I understand where these Hilary fans are coming from. And that is why my heart goes out to the poor Hilary fans who waited years for what ended up being disposable drivel. "Chasing The Sun" is basic, boring, and bland. Never mind the uninspired, generic lyrics. One would at least think that someone making her comeback would at least attempt to put in some semblance of energy and ardor into her vocals. Instead, Duff sounds somewhere between bored and hurried, as if she cut the track in 10 minutes and quickly punched out to snatch her half-priced Sonic slush before Happy Hour ended. This could have at least been a cute generic bop, as the verses almost indicated, but the chorus and hook are just too monotonous and repetitive for me to use. I won't do too much on her though. I mean, this could really work as background music to the end credits of a cute DCOM—perhaps Duff should consider The Lizzie McGuire Movie 2?
