Kelly Clarkson Q&A with Billboard:
You just did a comeback without an announcement. How did you felt, during the preparations of this?
Oh God ! It was nerve-wracking. I was really nervous about everything. First I thought of my fans during the whole time, cause they were always there for me, and I wanted to do something special for them. Then I thought about the song which is my new single, I wanted it to be well received cause it’s a new direction for me. And as an artist I wanted to evolve and surprise people, and I hope that paid and people liked it. And all that secrecy is very very hard to keep. Cause my fans keep asking about my comeback and I couldn’t tell nothing about. And ShoTime were pushing me to keep recording my album and doing it in private without telling everyone. The less hype, the bigger the surprise.
So more singles and an album is coming. Great news, what about your country project?
It’s still there, I’m still working on it. It will come out when it will be ready. For the moment I’m focused on Somebody Else and also my album which is nearly done. There will be a time and a place for Whisky Girl.
What can we expect on your new album?
A lot of things. This album represent a different me, more mature, sexified, and a lot of new influences. There some Electropop influences, Rock-Soul, Rock, alternative, but also a lot of pop, a bit of country and a teeny tiny bit of R&B, but I can’t tell everything yet, I want everybody wait for the album when it will be out, before they start judging.
I worked with a lot of people I didn’t work before, writer, producers and also collaborations. You’ll be very surprised.
I will not say that it’s my best project to hype the fans, but I think it is.
What is the next move?
Promoting my single around the world, tell the people that I am back. Stronger, Better and More ready than ever. I have a lot of things in preparations around my music but also others projects. It’s just so good to be back at such a late period, cause no one has high expectation on me. I’m just the dark horse, I just have to do my thing. I am also planning a mini tour before the album release to play some of the songs live, I don't know if it will happens, but I really want to.
Can we talk about the others projects? Cause there are some exciting news coming.
Well I shot a couple of episode for the series Nashville. I have a little role on the show, just for 4 episodes, I’ll sing one song of the Deluxe Edition of my album in it the show. The song is a cute country ballad called Peach. When they asked me if I wanted to be on the show I said yes, I read the script and I saw that I had a song to sing. The writers told me about this song Peach and I just had to re-write it and arrange it as I wanted.
I loved it so much that I saved a spot for my album.
