This song sounds really dated and boring. I think she relied too much on the context. When you think about it, the song is actually a pretty personal diss track, but not one person is speaking about the lyrical content. That's super worrying because if Rihanna had released this after breaking up with Chris, everyone would be reading into it and analysing the lyrics. It's shows just how much star power she is lacking, she's been so secretive all her life, nobody is interested in her personal life anymore.

She made a mistake with the production direction of this song. It should have been 10x more provocative, ratchet and current. I'm sorry, but nobody is here for Ballad Ci, she just doesn't sing THAT well (no shade). The songs that made her who she is, were urban and uptempo, she should stop fighting that.

Ugh. I'm annoyed. She really dropped the ball on this one. She could have exploited this breakup so much better. This is like her last chance, she needs to get it right.

Almost 4 million views on the audio alone completely throw off your argument that people aren't checking for her. Blogs and 'urban media' did analyze it - from the Paris comment, to her upgrading him. She doesn't have to be 'ratchet.' It's not a good look for her brand.

A strong fan base and urban support can build up needed hype and anticipation, for mainstream to bite in (cue: single #2). Uptempo bops get old real quick, and would drop out of charts in a matter of weeks.
