I don't see them making any mention of it for some reason
MTV's operating budget is severely limited on live broadcasts it would seem, hence the reduction of TRL's live show. Hell, the VMAs were hosted at a venue owned by MTV's parent company.
Did they announce on Thursday's show that there is no shows for the following week?
