7.523
10 - Penk, Ace Reject, Maneater, BlueGangsta, posh, V3$$3L [by way of absentia]
1 - Regina George
Valentina, remind me to never grant your another rate again.
posh, who we all wrote off as a heathen (quite rightly), felt His Spirit and exalted I Wanna Be The Only One, proclaiming it had him "dancing around the house, praising the Lord as my soul gets raised into the high Heavens by these flawless vocals." I don't blame you, Brother. BlueTimberwolf "didn't realize the UK could do gospel this well." I guess that's what happens when you rope in King of Gospel BeBe Winans in for a duet. [Lezzibehonest, this was probably meant to be a BeBe/Whitney duet, but Nippy was too addled to make it to the studio.] I really want to acknowledge the tremendous job Easther does in that first verse, setting up the song playfully, almost purring lines out. The vocal sparring has so much joy; it's CLEARLY GOSPEL but also could be the song played and Cliff and Claire Huxtable's fiftieth wedding anniversary. Just imagine Sondra, Denise, Theo, Vanessa, Rudy and dem GLORIFYING their parents their amazing love. YESSS.
OMG THOSE KEY CHANGES. supa, get right! This is a TEN. Oh heavens.

"Crazy" was a 10. I want justice for "Crazy."

This song is amazing, but I had to knock off a point for getting upstaged by Bebe.
Also, I'm offended by those contacts.

This is one of those songs that take you directly to church and sit you right in the front row, beside the choir.
Kinda bummed about it not even making it into the top 20.

I'm still too fragile after that posh attack on 2B1

No silly! I meant if you felt sanctified in choosing TheOnlyOne as username after hearing divinity personified in I Wanna Be The Only One.
But you might not like this!
7.705
10 - Dream, Subomie, RightDirection
3 - Regina George
The last single to give all five members vocal parts (no sticking the Ginger in the chorus harmonies, thank you very much!), Stop bids perhaps premature adieu. BlueTimberwolf recognized that it was "not their best or their worst. Would never have expected Motown sound from them, so kudos." It takes a real group to adopt a completely different genre and not come off as a parody or nostalgia act, but to have your personality shine through. posh, in an effort to absolve himself of his sins, comes correct: "Everything about this song is iconic. The chorus, the choreo, the video, the live performances." I agree. Mel C at the end? GO OFF THO.

It is funny that their biggest hit is one that features few actual harmonies by the group itself.
One could actually think its a Easther/BeBe solo collabo. How ... Giselle of her. #dangerouslyinlove.
In the 90s, a LOT of black girls were wearing ridiculous contacts. Thank goodness those days have passed. (Ignore your fave on RHOA though.)

Deserved. You're rotten for choosing this #2 trash over Too Much anyway.
Stay is still in, right? It's the better Eternal track imo.

Aw, kinda wishing I gave Stop a 10 to bump it into the top 20.
IWBTOO must have gotten a lot of lower scores if it got all those 10s and still only charted in the top 30.

Who's not making it to the top twenty?
Is it curtains for the Nanas or The Sats?
Will the Spice slaughter continue? (I would not be remiss to see Spice Up Your Life go, tbh.)
Did my attempts to save Overload work?
Or is it finally time for ... five particular women to show up?

Not their best song! This is the only thing by them that I would accept in the Top 10!
And GA are next I guess.

"Stop" was my least favorite of the Spice collection, but it's obviously still a flawless classic.

Nana's are headed for the slaughter house soon when the US Top 10 hits get slain as you mentioned a page or so ago. Venus & the original release of CS hit #8.
I don't think a GA song will see the exit until Top 15

As the young sissy I was, I always tied my love with the Spice Girls and how great they were to how gorgeous Victoria was and it's worth noting that Stop was the first appearance of her god-awful haircut, thus cursing the group and ending my undying love for them. In my heart, I really do believe that haircut is just as responsible for the demise of the Spice Girls as Geri was.
