What they did with Stay was smart,the song received a huge boost,i believe it wasn't even top 20 on Itunes or radio.
It would have gone #1 if it was on Spotify.. But she decided not to until it peaked

I'd prefer if she released the video next week (before it peaks on radio,let's keep in mind that there's no buzz to maintain it on the radio)and then the performance at the Grammys...
A performance is just a temporary boost,it's not going to make or break the song WW.
A video on the other hand is needed ASAP

I doubt that holding back the release of the video has anything to do with a promotional strategy c'mon.. we are talking about Rihanna.
All the videos this era were released shortly after the song release Work and NM after a month and KIB on the same day it was sent to radios.
She probably hasn't even shot the video and doesn't plan to,probably Samsung ran out of money after the Note7 disaster
