Artists like RIhanna, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake are so big that radio has to play whatever they put out whether or not they care. If Rih releases a song on Soundcloud or even audiobook and tweets a link 5 minutes later Im sure Hot 97 or Z100 will play it. They dont need "RADIO" . They already have a following, they themselves are already brands. Hence when I say they are bigger than radio. If artists like Bey, Justin Jay Z all come together and say you know what :"**** radio" i dont want my **** to be played on airwaves anymore. Radio will lose tons of revenue. Its a business at the end of the day. People like Tinashe (using Cap10's example) are not a commodity for advertisers.
2 On is a BOP but this Tinashe girl will have to come with the bops fast and furious or otherwise she will turn into another Cassie (who she sounds EXACTLY like), Christina Milian or moderately successful recording artist Keri Hilson.
