Oh I can admit that she could open with enough sales to go #1. She opened with 36K with no hit for 7 new songs attached to album that didn't do great to start with.

Look at Mac Miller for instance. His 1st album debuted #1 and the highest peaking song was #60. His new album is projected to sell 100K with no single debuting.

All you need is a huge/loyal fanbase. BUT you won't have longevity.

Okay you aren't getting it

The whole "no single" thing got coverage because HE DIDN'T RELEASE a single. There wasn't ANY CDQ or HQ version of New Slaves released. The only audio of the track came from the SNL performance. There wasn't any "promotion" of the song because literally, the first time the world heard New Slaves in HQ was when Yeezus leaked.

I wouldn't even WANT Nicki to do some **** like that just yet.

Hip-Hop is HYPE based. The entire genre is based on HYPE.

I definitely think Nicki could open big doing it, but again, I wouldn't necessarily want her to do it.

Lol Mac Miller had a TV show on MTV2 + The Way for promo and hype. Plus he has that hipster-indie kind of appeal as well.

Did you miss the part about TRU selling 36K? All you need is 100-150K to go #1 these days. It's not that hard to understand.
