I don't disagree with streaming being incorporated into RIAA certifications but I do agree that streams should be weighed a little heavier than they currently are. An album that went platinum and sold 600k doesn't look as weird as Shawn Mendes' album that I don't think even sold 200k going platinum.

To me, I'd be satisfied with songs and tracks working towards the hot 100 for streams.

When they double count and call it an album sale is where they get things like Anti and TLOP.

Free streams = $15 albums as if the same people that bought albums in the past didn't look at youtube or buy singles with remixes or buy multiples.

I'd rather hot 100 recurrent rule be modified to include tracks that chart below top 50 due to heavy streams to have a certain rule.

there was this article i read that was talking about how rih, bey, kanye all took risks and went above and beyond what they usually do and drake doubled down on drake. i agrih honestly, he said something about not being able to write fiction and ultimately i think itll be his achilles heel

he maybe just needs to take a break and live life and come back with something groundbreaking. the article also compared Views to Avatar, successful but lacks substance so will easily be forgotten. its a good album regardless but he couldve done better and i hope he does in the future

Now we have low selling artists gassed on their free streams on youtube and spotify and then when they're shows are not sold out they want to cry foul or deflect

If people aren't spending $15 and instead "stream" they better make your shows sold out since they have the extra cash

And Taylor and ADELE are easily bigger streaming-wise than Frih also.

Just because they ain't on Spotify doesn't take away from the fact they are getting 2x as many views she is with 5x less singles even with Spotify included in her numbers.

"Streaming is the future" is becoming so old. They don't even make money from that mess. It probably cost more to buy a 1 million cert. plaque than they get paid for "selling" 1 million albums through streaming. It's for the mere perception of commercial appeal. Let them have it.
