I don't agree with them for the most part, but the GOP Debate participants without Donald, is actually a good thing for the GOP. They were able to stay on topic and argue facts not petty personal jabs.

Rubio really playing up the God card tonight, so egregiously. Rubio is not a moderate and that is going to be exposed in the general.

You know, I really do like John Kasich. If the Democratic Party had to lose to a GOP candidate, I would rather it be him over Cruz, Trump, Rubio, Caron, Bush, or Christie. Perhaps with Rand Paul as his VP. It would be a somewhat tolerable ticket that I could stomach.

I agree. John Kasich is the most sane one, followed by Rand.

Totally true, and if he were nominated I think it could be a close race

He has been strong in Ohio with budgeting and dealing with their economy. With the way our economy is now, we may benefit from someone like him as POTUS. Since Governor Kasich took office, he's established nearly half a million private sector jobs within Ohio with helping to create a rebounding job market and economy. His stance of working with US allies instead of alienating them through "carpet bombing" the middle east like Cruz is saying is another thing as well. Though to be fair, Jeb has a similar stance. I think the leading GOP men don't have what it takes to carry out international diplomacy. Instead of strengthening ties to our allies, they would be alienating them. This "we're the best country in the world and everyone better fall in line" attitude isn't cute. Ted oozed that tonight and Trump serves that arrogance every day. Another big thing for me, he has a likability factor that I feel none of the other candidates have that helps him. It's not the end all, but it helps.
Rand for me has been consistent with his message of criminal justice reform, racial profiling, and the disparity of incarcerated people of color compared to whites. He did a good job covering and going a little in-depth, like he did during the first GOP Debate. Most of the GOP candidates treat the racial issues as an afterthought, but not him. I appreciate his transparency on the matter.

Didn't even bother watching cause they talk about the same damn issues every time... War, Hillary, ISIS. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I also hate the "America is a disaster" narrative.

To be fair, it's the same thing with the Democratic Party debates as well. Topics of the Economy (income inequality), National Security (terrorism), Health care (Obamacare / Single Pay Care), and gun control typical dominate discussions.

What were some of the policies he implemented to get Ohio on track?

That's still a bigger spectrum than what the republicans talk about. Not to mention the dem debates have discussed education, racial tensions, and climate change as well.

It wasn't more so policies than it was budget cuts. The state of Ohio had close to $8 billion of gap between state spending and expected revenues. His biggest criticism to his predecessor, Gov. Ted Strickland was the overspending during his tenure. He signed a $62 billion state budget for Ohio where it gave a 10% state income tax cut through the course of 3 years and increased the state's sales tax by twenty cents. Just last year, he signed a $71 billion state budget with a little over 6% cut.
Most of the GOP always felt we never balanced the country's budget way and has been a contributing factor to the national debt being where it is. I'm somewhat interested to see what he can do to improve the matter. I can't say I'm fully knowledgable about him, he isn't on the side of political issues I support (PP, equal pay/rights, gun control, and Obamacare). Therefore, I don't follow him closely. I just know that when GOP debates happen, the little I see from him in response to questions, I like what I see and hear.

Very true, but they barely spend enough time on those topics and spend loads of time on the topics I mentioned above. The GOP does the same thing with discussion of wounded/homeless vets, repealing the Affordable Healthcare Act, and such. Naturally our interests gravitates to the moderate - liberal topics that we're interested in just like the moderate - conservatives have topics they tend to gravitate towards.

Kasich & Rand are the only two I like. Especially Kasich. Just put him in an interview by himself, and if you didn't have knowledge on him, you might think he was a Democrat (well a moderate for sure).
