I might be wrong about this, but I feel like Jo Bros/Demi got way bigger budgets for their projects than Selena did. I mean, look the quality of the musicvideos alone.

Even NOW, look at the features on Demi's and Joe's album. Dev, Timbaland, Missy, Jason Derulo for Demi. Lil Wayne for Joe. Selena.. the demo version of unknown in the US Pixie.

Well giving up on CBT was a given. She went from selling millions & opening decently, to opening with less than 125k & collapsing the following week. Selena has been showing longevity since K&T's second week out tbh.

This and she didn't have a musical background to support her music like Hannah Montana or Camp Rock. Even after this stacked against her she managed to be successful showing HWR Selena's power.

Falling Down flopped but K&T sold stabily since the beginning and spent 11 months on the BB100, you're right.

And Selena did it basically on her own, almost no one she could sing, unlike Miley, who had Hannah Montana and her dad. Have ya'll notice than since Selena came around, Miley hasn't score a hit? CBT didn't outsold any of Selena's albums, the song reached the Top 10 but that was because her first week selling power, but Naturally, and all of her singles from her second and third record have already outsold the entire CBT era...

I think Taylor Swift and Bieber killed the whole HWR roster tbh. I don't think it has much to do with Selena. Most Miley fans wouldn't touch a Selena album but they'd "move on" to Bieber or Taylor. Tween fans are very fickle.

I think if there wasn't so much animosity between stanbases, most of the HWR' artists would sell much more. LOL. Hilary had no competition!
