Not Ramos going on to use an incident he admits isn't even bullying as his example
If I had let him bothering me it would had turned into bullying tbh. We played in the same football team and I saw him every weekday and for like 3 weeks (since I started playing on that team) he just bothered me non-stop.
You always need to stand for yourself tho. Also, some people really don't know how to deal with problems at all.
She looks basic as hell. Think about how she is now and how she was then. Can you imagine what must've been going through that mind of hers for all those years? She was probably weird in person.

The entire point of bullying is that it DOESN'T stop if you defend yourself or try to stop it. That's the entire difference between teasing and bullying. It's like saying "Well sexual harassment only happens if you LET it happen!" The ENTIRE point is that it is a non consensual act.
American schools don't promote 'fighting back' at all. If you do that, you get in just as much trouble.
This is true. I told my teacher that he tripped down the stairs because I knew I would get in trouble.
I don't think that fighting back is a good solution because you'll never see these people again so why waste time on them now? People who peaked in the middle/high school are the saddest cases ever looking back.

The whole point of bullying is that it does continue even if you try to stand up for yourself or fight back.
And if you do fight back, you're likely to be expelled.
No, not for everyone. The problem with some of your arguments is that the same situations work for others when it doesn't. A lot of times, when a bully gets their ass kicked, they stop.
Sticking up doesn't work half the time. Hell, I got so horribly bullied in 5th grade (the teacher wouldn't do anything because she thought I was gay and deserved it), the principal brought in this anti-bullying speaker.
I think a little bit of bullying and teasing is good and even necessary. It builds character and prepares kids for the future. But not excessive, everyone-ganging-up-on-one-person bullying. Plus it's always dangerous to push weak people to the limit, not just because they might hurt themselves but also because they might hurt their bullies.
