The lush "Runaway" is fairly typical of the album, with beautiful, poetic lyrics about sad ~deep~ feelings. I'm not sure what the song is about, but you can tell it means something powerful to him judging by the desperation in his voice as he asks "What makes you think I'm enjoying being led to the flood?"

This is also the highest placing song to receive no 10s, so I guess it's fair that it misses the top 30.

Best bit: The gorgeous orchestration
Best lyrics: "There's no saving anything / Now we're swallowing the shine of the sun"

Runaway should've not been eliminated before Conversation 16 or Sorrow but it's not Terrible Love, Bloodbuzz Ohio, England or Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks so I'm not too pressed.

It was one of the low points of their concert and the studio version isn't particulary amazing as well

But then again, I can't say I dislike any of High Violet tracks. They're average at worst.

I didn't have really high expectations tbh but they were actually really good. Their songs live became more passionate and energetic, I loved especially the more up-tempo ones like Bloodbuzz Ohio or Squalor Victoria. But the slower, sad songs were fantastic as well, they were more stripped down and intimate (and definitely more emotional).

Also, the way Matt went crazy during Terrible Love (I managed to touch him

) and then, he toned down to sing an acoustic version of Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks with us (over 2,000 people knew the entire lyrics, I was really surprised) >>>

Well the only song I'm sad left is Drunk Girls and at least I knew a decent amount of people didn't like it so... yeah. WAIT why did Holiday leave already too?! I'm really concerned with the taste of some people here... There's way too much The National left and I think Zebra's the only Beach House song left that I care about.

Most of these eliminations are fine. My main qualms are LCD already having two songs out. "White Sky", "Real Love", "Make The Bus", and "Say You'll Go" were also too low, but whatever. I don't even remember what most of the bottom fifteen sounded like. Also, I think if I cared enough to research more on The National and their lyrics/inspiration, I might have rated them lower.
