Family and friends started calculating the time (if it was his flight).
Then they found out it was and people were like; have hope, there are people who survive these things.
When they found out there were no survivors; everyone was flipping out with disbelief and anger.

The E.U. and its members also have to tread carefully as they are heavily reliant on Russia for oil and natural gas supplies. However, Russia is also considerably dependent on energy exports for revenue, so the likelihood of them turning off the tap is not that high unless the situation escalates to a point where they feel the need to, but it gives them power nonetheless. It's a very delicate situation, they trade heavily with one another.

It's incredibly unfair to put the blame for this on them of all parties involved imo. Just as a sidenote.

And also: no. Nobody is going to start a war over this. That would just be stupid. Who is going to declare war on Russia? USA? No. Who else then? Exactly.
