100 BEST SONGS EVER ˇ #13 - 11
?"I know you like my bumper, don't be ashamed. Don't even wonder, it's just a game. We rocking body to body, let's go insane."?
13 ˇ JENNIFER LOPEZ f/ PITBULL, "Live It Up" Debut Date: May 18, 2013 Weeks on Chart: 12 Weeks Peak Position: #01[1]
Shocked? It's sad to see that I am seeing this more on everyone's worst lists than on best. I don't get the hate. Is it just really because they are teaming up endlessly for the third time? I don't even care, these two are consistent in delivering awesome pop hits. I actually think this one's stronger than "Dance Again", though I still favor "On The Floor" most. It's actually one of the few songs I instantly got addicted to at first listen. Will always be a fan of J. Lo no matter how many times she'd do a collaboration with Pitbull.
FLASHBACK 2012: ONE DIRECTION, "Little Things" 2011: KATY PERRY, "Firework" 2010: KATY PERRY, "Firework" 2009: MILEY CYRUS, "The Climb"
?"And the saddest fear comes creeping in that you never loved me or her, or anyone, or anything."?
12 ˇ TAYLOR SWIFT, "I Knew You Were Trouble." Debut Date: December 15, 2012 Weeks on Chart: 19 Weeks Peak Position: #01[1]
Another shocker? Were you expecting it to go Top 10? So am I. This surprising dubstep single of Taylor is actually a definitive one for her. After a streak of fairytale and country tracks, she surprised us with an experimental yet interesting release through "Trouble.". I admit, it failed to caught me at first listen but it definitely grew on me tremendously during the first quarter of 2013. I can't actually say it's my favorite Taylor single but it's definitely going to be remembered. Sadly after topping my yearend charts twice, she then fails to crack within the Top 10 for the second consecutive year. Sorry, Swifties.
FLASHBACK 2012: KATY PERRY, "The One That Got Away" 2011: KATY PERRY, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" 2010: KE$HA, "We R Who We R" 2009: BEYONCÉ, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)"
?"And we'll never be royals, it don't run in our blood. That kind of lux just ain't for us. We crave a different kind of buzz."?
11 ˇ LORDE, "Royals" Debut Date: July 6, 2013 Weeks on Chart: 19 Weeks Peak Position: #01[2]
Unarguably one of the best breakthrough tracks of 2013. I actually first came across the song when my cousin's group performed this during the live shows in X Factor NZ. Upon hearing Lorde's version, it instantly caught me. The beats were infectious, the lyrics were poetic and the vocals were amazing. I am actually feeling mixed emotions with regards to how the song fared. I am glad that Lorde was recognized outside New Zealand. However, it's kind of sad seeing people overplaying this brilliant masterpiece.
FLASHBACK 2012: DEMI LOVATO, "Give Your Heart A Break" 2011: MAROON 5 f/ CHRISTINA AGUILERA, "Moves Like Jagger" 2010: MILEY CYRUS, "When I Look At You" 2009: CIARA f/ JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, "Love Sex Magic"
