First appearing on the self-titled 1975 album, "Rhiannon" has gone on to become one of the band's most-acclaimed signature hits. Peaking at #11 in the US, it was also voted the 488th greatest song of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. Live performances often saw Nicks claim that Rhiannon "is a song about an old Welsh witch". Live performances of this song by the band in the 1970s have also become infamous for the passion portrayed by Nicks, even being compared to an exorcism by bandmate Mick Fleetwood.
Also, Nicks apparently avoid wearing black clothing for about two years after the release of this song, in an effort to distance herself from any associations with witchcraft and the dark arts, as she felt it gave fans the wrong impression.
What the GP had to say:
I shall leave you with what conseeded had to say: "Literally one of the best songs of all time. **** you if you don't agree. **** you if you don't give this a 11. The verses and chorus are so magical, so **** you if you don't like this."

First released as the third single from Parallel Lines, "Heart Of Glass" is one of Blondie's biggest-selling and most-acclaimed songs. It went to #1 in eight countries, and, despite initial accusations that the band were "selling out", it was ranked as the 255th greatest song of all time by Rolling Stone in 2004, and the 259th greatest song on their updated 2010 list. Slant Magazine ranked it as the 42nd greatest dance song of all time, and it is also the 56th biggest-selling single of all time in the UK.
"Heart Of Glass" received the most 10s of any song in this rate (although I feel that may be because of how many 11s ended up going to "Dreams"), and there was a time when it and "Dreams" were very close and one ballot could have been enought to put "Heart Of Glass" in the lead. If that had happened, I wouldn't have even minded, because it's just such a great pop song.
What the GP had to say:
lovesong spoke nothing but praise: "It's a stone cold classic and a good one at that. Usually I love to root for the underrated songs and generally I'm more critical of the big hits [me teas] but this one is a song that I can't deny. I could listen to it all day, almost my 11!" Same, if it hadn't been for "Dreams", then "Heart Of Glass" would have got my 11. Fun fact, even if we had both given "Dreams" a 10 and "Heart Of Glass" our 11s, "Dreams" still would have won. And Buyonce1814... Threw a little bit of shade, I guess? Or tried to. "I love her yellow teeth in the video – Hollywood smile who?" Don't worry, sis, it's not for everyone. He then went on to say, "One of my favourites growing up." Giving me a little Mariah shading Madonna tea, there.
The band's only #1 in the US, "Dreams" was released as a single from Rumours. Written and sung by Nicks, it is one of the band's best known and most beloved songs.
Was there any doubt this song was going to win? Initially, yes, thank to Wonderlust, his 2. But the song prevailed, and by the end, the only way it wouldn't have won is if two or three voters had given it, like, a 0. And nobody's taste is that bad! "Dreams" received the most 11s of any song in the rate, receiving 5 (No other song could get more than 2!), as well as an additional twelve 10s. In fact, only four voters gave it a score below 8!
What the GP had to say:
Y'all had a lot to say about this one. Let's start with Wonderlust, who was the only voter to give it a score below 6: "The Corrs cover is superior. It destroys this sad excuse of a song." Poor you, though. Can't even sabotage right. Anyway, now to the positive comments! Buyonce1814 said, "This song puts me in a weird trance that I love. Stevie's voice is so soothing." Yet you only gave it a 7.2? Henny. Lucas32 was full of praise, too: "To me, "Dreams" defines that beautiful Fleetwood Mac sound that feels warm and hypnotising at the same time. Stevie's vocals are really gripping and the melody feels timeless even almost 40 years later." Ugh, so true. conseeded wouldn't let his 11 go, and said, "One of their best singles, next to Rhiannon, Little Lies, and Go Your Own Way." Marq kept it short: "Simply put, one of the best songs of all time. Like, ever." I agrih. Such a masterpiece. Contrastingly, lovesong wrote a whole dissertation on why it got his 11, and said, "Alright, here we go with the essay. First of all, before I even listened to any of the other tracks I knew that this would be my 11. It's simply one of those songs that is the work of legends, a song so insanely fantastic that you reach the realization that no-one else will ever come even close to it. So of course it's one of my favourite songs (if not the favourite) of all time, but here's why: Stevie's emotional vulnerability is gorgeous, and it accelerates a song with already brilliant emotion in its lyrics. The chorus is one of those choruses that literally takes you to places beyond reach. It's something that every songwriter should aspire to create in their own work. To be honest, I could listen to this on loop all day long. The definition of a song that cannot be contained in the 1-10 scale." Could not have put it better myself!
