I didn't put I Forgive You cuz' I think it will end up like IDHU and be a midcore single and after Stronger we need something that can smash, Let Me Down is kinda on the same boat but I think it would be a stronger choice, kinda rockier Kelly, Since You Been Gone tea which is why it's on my list.
The War Is Over has always been my fav' but I think it might suit 4th single more.
Breaking Your Own Heart is a wild card, it's a ballad, which already gives it a ground to make on every other choice but it's just raw and beatiful, could do great on Hot AC as well and Def' no problem in going Top 20 on pop, maybe pulling AG...One thing for sure, if she'll do promo this will slay live!
You Love Me I dunno about this, it's a fan fav' but it's hard seeing this smashing as a single, just like I kinda don't see Dark Side smashing, they are not the typical singles which is good and bad, they could sink really hard or smash really hard..I could be wrong about their chances of success though..The first kinda give me a Don't Waste Your Time tea, I'd love it to be released at a point but kinda not sure if as a 3rd single.
BTW, if we could release a delux The Sun Will Rise was really high up there!

OH I AGREE! i just remember before. IFY is like IDNHU
where everyone thought it will smash but it isnt, but why is this a critic favorite? i just find it generic actually but because it is i thought it could be a hit.
LET ME DOWN clearly should be a single.

Actually, it really matters!
Stronger will provide her a selling momentum, killing it with a wrong single will most likely kill any chance of strong sales.
Now days it's more about staying on chart selling than anything and without a string of hits and not midcore ones, it will have a hard time going hard.
AIEW would have done way better if IDHU wouldn't have been released after MLWSWY and we would have gotten something like AG type of hit, which is the only reason AIEW did better than MD.
We got lucky this era getting MKIA was followed with a big hit like Stronger, they would be stupid doing a wrong decision now, we need another hit to pull a great era!

agree with this. however WDKY will help kelly to have her third single gain attention but it should be worthy of the attention of public. dont you think dark side is a great single? i find it very adele in terms of risk because it is unique and unusual in sound and yet it will smash
i just agree with you that it is a not safe choice because it may either fall hard or hopefully smash big! it has such a good message too

That's what I keep thinking.
I dunno if they should take a risk right now and Dark side could blow up, don't get me wrong but are we at the point of taking risks?I'm not really sure we should.
I'd support her no matter what but I want her to be really successful with this era.

This is how the singles should go from now on.
3rd Single: Release Dark Side (to Pop, Hot AC and AC) AND The Sun Will Rise ft. Reba (to Country, Hot AC and AC). She'll have a huge total AI on radio, which I think is a must after WDKY to maintain sales, because she'll target two different audiences. I don't think any single song on the album can top WDKY alone, so she should release two at once! Bringing someone like Reba or maybe Miranda will mean Sun will do well on country without too much promotion on Kelly's part. Dark Side can get most of Kelly's attention: I think the song needs it but could have a great impact if treated properly. This will hold us down until mid-summer.
5th Single: I Forgive You (it needs to be remixed so that the chorus has an actual melody like it does when she sings it for the last time in the song, instead of just harmonies, and update the instrumental so it doesn't sound outdated). If this is done, the song could do as well as Suck. Currently, the state of the song will not get it played a lot on radio, it needs to be remixed properly so that it's radio friendly and catchier. But then I think it could be a summer SMASH.
6th Single: Breaking Your Own Heart in time for a Fall/Winter release. It should be released to Country, Hot AC, Pop AND AC because I think it could have great crossover appeal. I see it having AG longevity, and should hold over sales. It will be the culmination of all her Stronger singles.
And THAT is how the singles should go to ensure maximum success of this album. We would get dark/pensive Kelly, an inspirational Kelly, an elated (but mature) Kelly and a sorrowful Kelly. All the singles should get videos with storylines and iconic looks. And Kelly will be back on top. Of course, I doubt she has the time to pull all of this off

oh yeah.. this isnt breakaway era anymore no more risk should be taken
safest would be let me down do you think it can make the album sell or will it just b another digital smash and will do small effects to the album?
because i dont care anymore if the singles would just hit the gold mark as long it will make the album selling big

I don't thinks she needs 6 singles from this era, 4 will do nicely.
If she does have 6 singles, I'm here for a rerelease.

The only thing I really agreed on.
Nothing will have it's success but we need something that can at least do something close and Let Me Down/War Is Over could really be it IMO.
Dark Side is overrated by fans I'm kinda disliking it to an extand...I don't see why is everyone pushing for it when you know you just love the song but as a single it's not a good choice.
It's kinda thinking about yourself instead of Kelly.
If they release DS and it will flop like it probably will, we might not get another single and this era will be shorter than I'd like.

Lol I was just playing around I get what you mean though. But I don't think the third single is nearly as critical as the second single.
Plus, I really do think Dark Side is "safe" in a sense. I'm surprised that people find it so non-radio friendly yet rave about WDKY because in my opinion the songs are very similar (which was why I was apprehensive about it being the follow-up to WDKY for a bit but I got over it). They are both heavily synth/disco-y influenced which is what is big now and has replaced pop/rock. The main difference is the theme, which for Dark Side may be kind of sad but I don't think that makes it uncommercial or anything, and it is new ground for Kelly who people have gotten used to hearing kiss-off songs from.

Erm, i think there are some videos which kelly stated that dark side may end up being a sngle or the 3rd single if im not wrong. The song definitely sound different than any pop songs sound nowadays and so is adele. Would you think SLY would slay on radio 2 or 3 years back? Kelly might end up risking it but i really think it's worth it! Even if it does not smash on pop in the end, all of us are pretty sure, hot ac will give 100% support to whatever songs kelly released.

WDKY has a dark green update but the gap of the figures against the # 1 is getting bigger.
I don't know what's the buzz around David Guetta's song tbh. I hope it will die quickly like that of Glee's.

Well What Doesnt Kill You is gaining on Set Fire To The Rain but it's gap is bigger because Turn Me On just hit #1 and is getting the top spot exposure

I guess every diva needs a Survivor/Fighter type anthem for their fanbase.... nothing wrong with that but I wished it offered a new sound or style for Kelly like those songs did for Bey/Christina etc.
The only thing that gets me to play this song is her powerhouse voice and those notes she is KILLING in the chorus throughout the song. Her vocals are so top notch, my Lawd!!!! Her voice can make musical diarrhea into a heavenly piece of lemon cake. Yum!!

This is my prediction, Set Fire To The Rain is gonna have atleast one week at #1 but with albums sales so high the single wont sell enough to keep the crwon, after that the next week or the one after that Turn Me On may get #1 with its huge digital sales because themusic video is supposed to be released at the end of January but after that it will dropped because its airplay is too low, NOW with What Doesn't Kill You its gonna get number one after those two songs because it can pass SFTTR on itunes and its getting better airplay updates than TMO is, plus it even had the highest overall airplay gain today and it has sold a significant amout on itunes YET so it has a ton more to go!! i just hope this can have #1 for atleast a week. i probably sound delusional but i dont care hahaha
