I love the Velvet Rope, but to be honest, this album and Rhythm Nation should really switch places, because RN was legendary, even though TVR is her most critically acclaimed album.

TVR is a better album than RN though. RN is her Thriller/Teenage Dream... a great collection of singles (although imo it's better resolved than either of those). TVR is a body of work and you have to experience it as an album to love it.
