This tbfh!! I was just soo disgusted. Like what's the art in that though? All elements of class in her are gone after that performance. Probably for like a week or 2, ppl wud talk about it but then they'll think back at it and see how disgusting it was. Someone getting thrown up on OVER AND OVER AGAIN...and then rubbing and hugging!! Yuck!!!! That was just simply disgusting!

Well, see she started the performance by explaining that the song is about rape. The vomit represents two things IMO: The disgust she felt in those moments and also her history of eating disorders (also shown in the MTN video). Yes, it was meant to make you uncomfortable. Yes, it was meant to make you think “what the **** is she doing”. It was her showing us a representation of how gruesome her experiences were.

Swine is a catharsis and she's showing us the darkest parts of her mind, her fears and secrets. It's art and it's provocative. And she got you talking boo.

Art for art's sake. The actual definition of "Avant-garde". She got her $2 million cheque and a chance to share one of her most memorable performances with all of her fans, what's the downside?

It wasn't even televised on a big station. That was not the platform for that kind of event. It wasn't supposed to help anything really. Was it disgusting? Hell yes, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a daringly disgusting performance.

It wasn't supposed to. Gaga doesn't have a current single and is in no rush to release any promotion for the album.

It was for fans, and one that you couldn't buy tickets for. It probably wouldn't have been televised if it wasn't endorsed.

Millie Brown isn't new - Gaga has worked with her, and tweeted about her art form years / months ago. No shock value.

What I don't understand is the people who are fully aware of who Stefani Germanotta is and the struggles she faced earlier in life and still does to this day. Gaga has thrown up (in "art" form) many times during her career; she has even worn dead meat.

How is reflecting and expressing a terrible moment in her life with her fans, in the best way she knows how to, as bad as everything else she has done in the last 7 years? It's really not that shocking. It's pretty admirable and very daring, actually.

If you want a superficial popstar who makes music, walk in the other direction. Gaga's a performance artist.

Just because you have unfortunately had to deal with an ED doesn't mean you have to shame Gaga when she made no mention of ED's and in no way glamorized them. I hope you weren't using you and your faves issues just as a reason to bash Gaga because I'm getting transparent teas. Funny no one reputable is coming out and saying she has glamorized these things during her performance.
