Obviously not. Robin Thicke wasn't part of arguably the best boyband during the late 90's, wasn't one-half of America's sweethearts, didn't undergo a very public breakup with the biggest female popstar at the time, didn't break off to start a solo career apart from his bandmates during his prime, didn't have all of his songs produced by Timbaland during his prime, didn't sell out for the film industry for years, passively building up the GP's thirst of new music from him for half a decade.
But he's breaking the airplay record and the digital sales record with just one song, and his album will sell a respectable amount of units despite being unknown to most people, and only being known to some for that smooth R&B song from 2007.
