Taylor Swift Scores #1 Pop Hit With "I Knew You Were Trouble."
TAYLOR IS FIRST ARTIST SINCE THE BEATLES TO SPEND SIX WEEKS OR MORE AT #1 WITH THREE CONSECUTIVE STUDIO ALBUMS
SALES OF RED NOW TOP 5.4 MILLION ALBUMS, INCLUDING QUADRUPLE-PLATINUM U.S. CERTIFICATION
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Six-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift this week reaches #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart with "I Knew You Were Trouble.", from her 5+ million-selling current album RED. Released on Big Machine Records, RED has been certified 4X Platinum in the U.S. for sales in excess of 4 million albums, and the disc's worldwide sales total is now past 5.4 million. The single "I Knew You Were Trouble." has sold over 2 million copies in the U.S. alone, has topped the iTunes all genres chart, and is a worldwide smash, already reaching #1 in Australia and New Zealand, and rapidly ascending Top 10 airplay charts around the globe in the UK, Canada, and territories in Europe, Asia and Africa. The pop success of "Trouble" follows Taylor's recent Billboard Hot 100 #1 and 3X Platinum single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," another worldwide chart-topper and the lead single from RED. Taylor first topped Billboard's pop charts in 2009, when " Love Story " became the first country crossover to land at #1 on CHR/Top 40 in the 16-year history of Billboard's Nielsen BDS chart. At Country radio, "Begin Again" is at #8* and climbing Billboard's Top 10, with more than 25 million audience impressions this week alone. Taylor spent 9 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Country Songs chart with "Never Ever," setting Billboard's all-time record for most weeks at #1 on the Country chart by a female artist.
With RED, Taylor Swift becomes the first artist since the Beatles (and the only female artist in history) to log six or more weeks at #1 with three consecutive studio albums. RED has topped the Billboard 200 Albums Chart for seven weeks, following Fearless (11 weeks), and Speak Now (six weeks).
Taylor has topped the Billboard album chart for 24 weeks in her 4-album career, holding the record (tied with Adele) for the most weeks by a female artist at #1 on the chart since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales figures for Billboard in 1991.
This week, Taylor marked another Billboard milestone, as "The Moment I Knew," from RED and just released at iTunes, became her 57th career Hot 100 charting single, pushing her past Madonna and Dionne Warwick to become the woman with the second-most number of charted singles in the chart's 54-year history. Aretha Franklin holds the record.
Next month, Taylor will perform on the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, where she is up for three trophies, including Record of the Year for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."
Taylor has added a New York-area stadium show to this year's RED Tour lineup -- she will headline the MetLife Stadium on July 13th, following the rapid sell-outs of her three Prudential Center shows in March. The RED Tour will now include 13 stadium stops, for a total of 64 shows in 46 cities in 29 states and 3 provinces in 2013. A complete listing of tour dates, including future onsale information, is available atwww.taylorswift.com.
Taylor is in Europe this week for performances on the 40 PP Awards in Spain and the NRJ Music Awards in France. Earlier this month, she was named Favorite Country Artist at the People's Choice Awards, her third consecutive win in that category. Over the holidays, DoSomething.Org ranked Taylor at #1 on their 2012 "Top Celebrities Gone Good" list, their annual year-end ranking of celebrity philanthropists.

I see I didn't miss much. Other than some defenses, and stupid nice quotes.

Oh HEY, Pauly!
EDIT: Btw, y'all. Don't get too excited about Her listening to criticism. With the addition of new back-up singer, I don't think She has learned.
Also, it would be nice to see Her go back to Country. We'll see about this next month.
