The song is so much better when you listen to it loud in the car too and can sing along... It's not as interesting to listen to sitting on your computer in your room, but if you're just listening to it for fun in the car it's lovely

People certainly seem to be able to declare it an average song and move on, but it's not. I think Born This Way is VERY indicative of the sound of the entire album from what we've heard so far. The only thing about Born This Way is that production is very toned down in comparison to the very heavy industrial sound of everything else we've heard. But we knew that before the song came out.

I personally love the song as a whole, including the message - my 4th favorite Gaga song. It just doesn't make it above JD PF and BR. I'm not the only one feeling like that. To be honest, if BTW had not this powerful message behind it and had a theme like PF for example, it would be even lower and I'm sure for a lot of people too. The message saved the song. The video could have lifted the song for a lot of people, but didn't.
For what I bolded, she stated that BTW isn't representative of the rest of the album. So, I'll have to wait to hear the entire album to judge. The other song from what I've heard are more deep, more darkish, which I love.
