Church is no stranger to creative left turns – which is probably why he likes Taylor Swift's 1989 so much. "If you look at her career, she’s in a space that, historically, I don’t know that anybody’s ever been in. Everybody always compares her to Madonna, but I don’t know, man. Madonna at 25, was she at this spot? No, I don’t think so, especially if you look at what she’s done in country prior to kind of moving into pop. She has such a unique career and she’s so young and it’s gonna be really cool to see where that goes. I’m looking forward to it.”
Church adds, “I thought that what she did with the pop album was the most brilliant thing. And I totally get why she did it – it completely and totally makes everybody out there go, ‘What the hell is next?’ It was such a departure, and it was so fresh that she’s opened up the whole field. Speaking with a promoter last night, I said, "I totally relate to that." I feel the same way, is we totally widened the field now.
it seems like we don't need a new thread after all

See, that is exactly what I've been saying on here. Taylor is having domination that historically is pretty rare, almost unprecedented in the US. Taylor is like Madonna of this decade but achieving this all much younger.
Eric Church obviously respects Taylor because both of them are artists first who just go with where the music takes them and worry about which genre it will fit in later. I tweeted something along those lines a while back and he retweeted me, so obviously he agrees.
He also spoke about Taylor in his previous Rolling Stone interview in June 2014

On upsetting Taylor Swift fans (Church released a cryptic teaser video for his album showing Taylor Swift thanking him at the CMAs for getting kicked off the Rascal Flatts tour, which created a spot for her early in her career, with the words "One Will Rise and One Will Fall" scrawled across the screen. It was quickly taken down.):
This is about where my manager about got me killed. When Taylor was on the CMA awards thanking me for getting kicked off the Flatts tour, I saw it on the bus and loved it. What John wanted to show was we wanted to pay homage to our path and what this record was, going with what Taylor said.
[We meant] "The Outsiders" will fall and "Give Me Back My Hometown" will rise. I love Taylor. I love her art her creatively, we're buds. All of a sudden I'm calling out Taylor, and it couldn't have been farther from the truth. It was the most insane thing. It was so blown out of proportion. I've never had anything that blown out of proportion. The reason we took it down was I didn't like how the dialog was starting to shift to stalkers – the dialog went there. And I didn't like that dialog. It was never intended. Taylor and I laughed about it later. My son [two-year-old Boone] knows who she is when she comes on TV. He calls her Aunt Tay Tay. I told her that, she loved it.
1989 at no 8 in the latest UK chart for last week! Not dropped out of the Top 10 here in it's first 20 weeks! Style should rise next week as BBC Radio 1 have added it to their A-List Playlist!

Is she going to do some kind of promo before the tour starts?
Did we get any type of confirmation about the bad blood remix?
