It's kinda weird to me how frontloaded album sales are in Japan for the huge local acts. As I understand it, there's a lot of promotional deal stuff for some albums that's only available the first couple weeks of sale? Dunno if tha's right.

It's the total opposite from how it is with films. The market there is known for very long box office runs compared to the rest of the world.

There's no other more perfect date to promote the album.
It's a big award show, she's nominated and will definitely win something and it's one day before the album comes out.
