I also don't think she should do a dual release. Release Kiss It Better as the second single everywhere. It has multiformat appeal. This could be a hit on the urban AC charts Kiss it better is too great of a song to only get a pop radio release and share its spotlight with Needed Me. Needed Me is more suited for Summer kind of like the hills. After 2 Pop hits pop radio would be more willing to support her next single and Needed Me kind of reminds me like The Hills by weekend in terms of content and that song was even more urban than Needed Me which has a very Poppy chorus. I want her to stay away from dual releases as much as possible those only work with ballads and a very urban song. Like Stay/PIU.
Urban are probably going to play Needed Me after Work whether we like it or not I think. They are not going to hold it off for KIB lol. So I'm not sure a dual release is avoidable unless you send Needed Me everywhere.
Maybe a solution is send Needed Me to all formats in the US and give Europe Never Ending/Close To You.
Needed Me could lowkey work as the full-on second single.
It could pull a BBHMM/Pour It Up but even better. It's really not that urban-focused.
& I agree with Fruity - urban radio is totally gonna start spinning Needed Me on its own.
They always do this with Rihanna singles and seeing the large-scale success of it by itself...
Kiss It Better has quickly become my favorite Rihanna song but Deemy, cmon.
The verses are very samey and there's not a lot of change-ups.
It can benefit from a remix.
It doesnt need one. The radio edit can be 3 minutes long. All she needs to do is just ignore the repeated second verse and just go straight into the bridge and let the clean version goes "Man Forget yo Pride". And Boom a #1.
so they've had ANTI banners on spotify for a bit now, but i just heard an audio ad. it's "work" playing and then a voice tells you you're listening to rihanna's single from her brand new album
I would never have passed Needed Me as a single. It's barely a standout on the album.
I'm here for Love On The Brain w/ Higher included in its video. Change it up. She's had her Urban/Pop crossover smash already with Work. At least LOTB would get people talking.
It's not this serious. She could push out 3 singles at once for all I care. Consideration and Needed me definitely need their urban radio releases. those two are so Fire and give you a genuine "bad gal/boy" type of feel. I feel LOTB would bring longevity to the album. I don't see it going #1 but I definitely see if selling more than Work in the long run. Sort of like Stay vs Diamonds. Diamond was the #1 single but I believe Stay outsold diamonds.
Unfortunately, IMO, any single choice from this point on, besides the urban influenced singles, seems awkward since Work was the first single.
Consideration is so so good but not single worthy.
There's like no use discussing this anyway. I would be SHOCKED if KIB/NM weren't released together (or indirectly together with urban picking up NM on its own).
It is so true that urban will play Needed Me and Sex With Me no matter what. Idek why we're even trying to plan **** with them, they don't gaf about official releases
