Hans Christian Anderson also wrote The Snow Queen (i.e. Frozen) and "The Ugly Duckling." As you can tell, he had a very difficult time fitting in with the world.. so many stories on isolation, finding power, making friends with a different world, a hostile society.
Also - it still bothers me how the boy who voiced Eric was sixteen when they did this film but Ariel was almost thirty years old. What kind of cougar realness.
