It's sad how this game's only decent feature seems to be the new CAS. I mean the build mode is literal crap and so is the live mode apparently. Several people who got to play the game have said that the gameplay itself is pretty bland and boring. You can't even play a proper legacy because they took out the damn family tree. I'll be *******ing it nontheless. nn

What are you talking about? Build mode is what makes me excited for this!
I hate building houses and all I want to do now is building..
Live mode seems very good as well
Why are EA greedy as ****? There's a few other publishers who don't overprice their titles, but you see the average EA/UBi/Acti game selling such expensive titles. The Sims 4's prices are ridiculous.
They're charging like £70 for the Premium Edition that comes with:
The game (DERP)
A tiny pointless book
and DIGITAL DLC YAY
So why are they charging so ****ing much for this game when most of the features are digital? Get rekt, EA.
The "tiny pointless book" is a Game Guide, which every game has, and they usually sell for $30 - $60 each separately.
It's terrible compared to TS3 and even TS2. No terrain tools, the new restrictive foundations, 3 storeys only, etc. Not to mention the absence of the CASt tool.

Build Mode is incredible according to the people who played it, and who build incredible houses and have followings of like 40k subscribers on YouTube etc.
Live mode has actually been praised to the heavens. The only people calling it bland are the people who haven't played.

And I didn't even know the Sims had a family tree except in Create A Sim. Showing the family tree can't stop you from playing a legacy? Surely people's memories aren't that bad.
I get that they should be in there, but it doesn't render the game unplayable.
anyone know if/when they will release information on the Mac version? I'm tempted to buy the PC version but i know the game would run much more smoothly on my Mac

If you buy it on Origin, you'll be able to download the Mac version for free when it becomes available
I need this so much. The fact that objects are unlocked by completing tasks is amazing.
That's how it was in The Sims 2 for PS2 and that's one of my favourite games.

Terrain tools, I agree.
The foundations are much better in The Sims 4 because you can adjust the heights. Also, there is a easy hack to build a Shed/Garage without a foundation.
If you use this method, build the room you want, then delete half the room, then delete the half with the foundation, and wollah. A room with no foundation. Really easy.
And The Sims 2 and Sims 3 were techincally 3 stories each as well. Except the roof and foundation also counted as "floors". So if you had a foundation and an attic, you basically only had three floors.
The Sims 4 changed the attic and the foundation into tools, rather than floors.
However, they are apparently working on a cheat that will change how many floors you can have. They added a cheat into the Sims 2 after launch that basically meant you could build as many floors as you want (although after about 5 your PC would lag anyway).
And CASt was cute, but it way too laggy and glitchy and caused so many problems. But it was a good feature. But I'd rather wait until they can add it in without it being laggy and glitchy.
Even the PS3 version lagged from Create A Style, and The PS3 has an 8 core processor that run at 3.2Ghz EACH
CAS (though it's missing CAST) and build mode seem really good. The Sims 4 seems perfect for those who like to build for hours and that's it, as well as users who simply like to make characters and upload them to Tumblr. It pretty much neglects people who love sandbox game playing. I bet if they waited a little longer the game would have been perfect. I plan on getting the game in about two to three years for know after the patches and EPs come out!
